Latin America LED lighting will reach $345 million in 2015
According to the forecasts of Electronicast market research, the output value of LED general lighting fixtures in Latin America will reach $345 million by 2015, with an average annual growth rate of 42.5%. In 2010, the output value was $59.48 million.
Currently Brazil occupies a major position in this market. Considering that the 2014 World Cup will be held in Brazil, there will be demand for improvements to basic lighting facilities. Brazil's annual consumption growth rate of LED fixtures may lead at 46.7% (2010-2015), among which downlights used for street lights, tunnel lights, parking lots, etc. will account for 51.3%. However, Mexico is expected to vigorously deploy government LED street light projects. There are still new opportunities in Latin America.
