The Shanghai Lighting Technology and Application Trends Forum will be held in June

2011 is the opening year of the '12th Five-Year Plan.' Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Industry Association, Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society, and Fudan University Electric Light Source Research Institute will jointly hold the '2011 Shanghai Lighting Technology and Application Trends Forum' on June 2 at Yifu Science and Technology Building of Fudan University in Shanghai. The aim is to better leverage Shanghai's high-tech advantages in lighting, promote the industrialization of high-tech achievements, and advance a closer, more harmonious, and more perfect integration between scientific R&D and production applications. The forum will be themed on 'Development Trends of the Lighting Industry in 2011' and guided by 'Rooted in Shanghai, Technology Leadership, Looking to the World, Jointly Planning the Future,' fully leveraging Shanghai's high-tech characteristics to lead the lighting industry in seizing new opportunities, meeting new challenges, preparing in advance, and shaping the future. It will more powerfully promote the joint healthy and sustainable development of LED lighting and traditional lighting. The forum will discuss the development trends of the lighting industry in 2011. It is co-organized by three renowned domestic and international companies—Shanghai Mingkai Lighting Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yaming Lamp Factory Co., Ltd., and OSRAM (China) Lighting Co., Ltd.—which will jointly explore the future development trends and market direction of the lighting industry; study, exchange, and discuss cases in lighting engineering design; discuss lighting technology and applications from an academic perspective; release new lighting technologies and products; and listen to the opinions and suggestions of lighting industry experts on further improving the comprehensive level of China's LED lighting industry.

\r\nThis forum will help guide the healthy development of China's LED lighting industry, promote technological progress in product R&D and production, facilitate the promotion and application of new LED lighting technologies and products, and enable better all-round cooperation among LED lighting manufacturers, application units, and lighting designers. Renowned experts have been invited: Mr. Chen Yansheng, Chairman of the China Association of Lighting Electrical Appliances, will deliver a report entitled "China's Lighting Industry and LED Lighting"; the Conference Chairman, Mr. Zhang Haicong, Chairman of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society, will deliver "Issues Worthy of Attention in Developing LED"; Mr. Liang Rongqing, Director of the Electric Light Source Research Institute of Fudan University, will deliver "The Current State and Development Prospects of OLED"; Dr. Zhang Xiaofei of Gaogong LED will deliver "Forecast of Global LED Lighting Application Development Trends in 2011"; and Prof. Chen Dahua of Fudan University will deliver "Explorations on the Development of the Lighting Industry". These exciting reports will address the development trends of China's lighting industry during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, the existing problems, and the hot topics of market concern, with in-depth discussion and analysis, scientific demonstration, efforts to drive innovation, seize development opportunities, and create future brilliance.
