"12th Five-Year Plan" for the LED Industry Focuses on Three Key Elements

Источник: 互联网 Просмотры: 4088

The 12th Five-Year Plan outlines three major elements for LED industry development: improving LED chip luminous efficiency, strengthening white LED patent layout, and accelerating the formulation of LED lighting standards.

Regarding improving LED chip luminous efficiency, mainland China's chip manufacturing technology still significantly lags behind international manufacturers, and the LED chips it adopts are mainly sourced from foreign companies. Strengthening the upstream LED industry mainly focuses on chip manufacturing.

Mainland China's lighting fixture export volume currently ranks second globally. In the future, if LEDs are sold to other countries, patent issues will arise. At present, the number of effective domestic patents is also dominated by foreign manufacturers. Whether developing inward or outward, obtaining white LED patents will be an area that needs strengthening in the future.

Regarding accelerating the formulation of LED lighting standards, in view of the poor implementation effectiveness caused by uneven quality of LED lighting during the "Ten Cities Ten Thousand Lanterns" project under the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," the implementation of LED lighting standards is being accelerated, in hopes that quality-stable LED lighting products will be available in the future.

The plan hopes to expand its LED market through the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan," aiming to increase the chip self-production rate to 70% and achieve a 20% share for LED lighting by 2015, with the total output value of upstream, midstream, and downstream LED reaching 500 billion RMB.
