Before the end of the year, 20 streets in Chengdu will all be equipped with LED lights

Before the end of the year, 20 medium and small streets in Chengdu will all be equipped with LED lights. To achieve the goal of reducing energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP by 20% during Chengdu's "11th Five-Year Plan" period, Chengdu will further advance ten key energy-saving projects in industry, construction, etc. this year.

Reporters learned that, according to relevant regulations, Chengdu's goals for this year are: to complete energy savings of 500,000 tons of standard coal; to promote energy conservation and consumption reduction among 84 key energy-consuming units with annual comprehensive energy consumption of more than 10,000 tons of standard coal, to achieve energy savings of 280,000 tons of standard coal; to accelerate the elimination of outdated production capacity, to complete energy savings of 400,000 tons of standard coal; to fully implement the "Chengdu LED Lighting Product Application Plan (2010-2012)", to complete the LED light installation project on 20 medium and small streets; and to actively promote the construction of low-carbon cities.

Reporters learned that this year Chengdu will continue to advance the "Ten Cities, Ten Thousand Lights" semiconductor lighting pilot demonstration project. Before the end of the year, the city must complete the installation of more than 6,000 LED lights, and the "Ten, Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand" LED lighting product application demonstration project was officially launched this year.
