Introduction to the 2013 German iF Product Design Award Lighting Category Gold Award Winners
The winners of the German iF Product Design Award 2013 have just been announced, with 87 award-winning works in the lighting category. The iF Award and the Red Dot Award have comparable influence and are known as the Oscars of the design world, symbolizing product design and quality. Many manufacturers consider it an honor to attach the iF logo to their products. 1. DISCUS EVOLUTION (LED Spotlight System)
The minimalist, stylish DISCUS EVOLUTION spotlight system features a basic structure reminiscent of the ancient sun, characterized by a 30 W light source, excellent beam pattern, and color rendering (Ra 90). The newly developed LED circuit board design allows up to 2000 lumens of luminous flux with luminaire efficiency exceeding 65 lm/W. The discus-shaped appearance uses less energy and provides more heat dissipation space.

2. IN-EI Issey Miyake (Lighting Series)

The designers are Issey Miyake and Reality Lab, a studio dedicated to designing floors, tables, and lighting. The project materials come entirely from recycled sources. The lighting series either diffuses light through fabric or uses recycled fibers processed from PET bottles. Compared with the production of new materials, the innovative technology reduces energy consumption and CO? emissions. Combined with Issey Miyake's artistic vision, it gives light a unique performative capability, and Artemide S.P.A. has adopted LED light sources.
3. LDAHV6L27CGE, LDA6L/C (LED Bulb)

The illuminated LED bulb resembles an incandescent bulb, equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent bulb, with a rated life of 40,000 hours, which will further encourage the transition from incandescent to LED.
4. Ledino Outdoor Dunetop range (Road Lighting)
Manufacturer/Designer: Royal Philips Electronics, Eindhoven, Netherlands
The high-quality Philips outdoor street lamp features an unassuming die-cast aluminum exterior that creates a humble lighting environment. Available in gray or smoke gray, the integrated ultra-thin warm white LED light module saves energy and offers a service life of 20,000 hours.
5. Quadraled (Wall Light)

The wall light features a rounded, pure form, and its highly consistent design fully realizes the lighting design intent.
6. Solar Mobile Light (LED Portable Table Lamp)

The rechargeable solar LED table lamp can also serve as portable lighting. When traveling, it can be folded up to fit in a pocket. Compact and convenient, the power generated by the solar panel charged via the built-in rechargeable battery can illuminate for up to 4 hours, and it can also be charged and lit via a USB power source.
