A Brief Discussion on the Highlights and Future Development of Daming Lighting

　　Jingzhou Daming Lighting Co., Ltd. was founded in 1992, covering an area of more than 120 mu, with a factory building area of over 80,000 square meters. It is currently the largest and most specialized T5 energy-saving fluorescent lamp manufacturer in China. The company has been honored as a key high-tech enterprise in Hubei Province, and has passed the ISO9001 International Quality Management System Certification, ISO14001 International Environmental Management System Certification, etc. Since 1998, the "SNODE" trademark has been awarded as "Famous Trademark of Hubei Province" for many consecutive years. In 2008, the company established an Electric Light Source Talent Training Base, and formed strategic partnerships for optoelectronic technology research with Fudan University, Yangtze University, Wuhan Polytechnic, Shashi University, etc. In 2010, it was approved to establish the "Shashi University Daming Lighting Academy."

　　Starting from manual production, after nearly two decades of innovative development, the company now owns 12 T5 fully automated production lines and three T5 integrated bracket production lines, ranking first in the country in scale. It has formed two major product clusters with corporate technology cores and independent intellectual property rights: T4 and T5 fluorescent lamp light sources and T5 integrated brackets. T5 fluorescent tubes are the company's flagship product, with an annual production capacity of up to 60 million units, ranking first in production and sales in the country for nine consecutive years. In 2012, 8 additional fully automated production lines will be added. By then, Daming Lighting will become the only lighting enterprise in the world with an annual output of 200 million T5 fluorescent tubes.

　　The products have passed inspections by national, provincial, and municipal testing institutions at all levels, and have passed the national 3C safety certification and EU CE safety certification, obtaining more than ten national patents, and have been included in the National Torch Plan Project since 2007. T5 integrated bracket products won the bid for the National High-Efficiency Lighting Promotion Project in 2010 and 2011 consecutively, and are key promotion products of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance. In 2011, the company also became the first drafting unit for the national standard of T4 fluorescent lamps.

　　Daming Lighting has established a nationwide marketing network and service system, with products exported to nearly twenty countries and regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and India, receiving high praise from consumers both at home and abroad. Customs data shows that from January to September this year, exports of energy-saving lamps decreased by nearly ten percentage points compared with the same period last year—a phenomenon not seen in many years. The data for October is also not expected to be optimistic. Apart from the price increase of tri-band phosphors, this phenomenon is also related to the development of LED lighting and the slow recovery of the economic environment. In early August, the "China Incandescent Lamp Phase-out Roadmap (Draft for Comments)" was published, and as one of the substitutes for incandescent lamps, LED lighting applications once again attracted investors' attention. In the face of the future price trends of fluorescent lamp products and the development of LED lighting products, Daming Lighting has also adopted many long-term strategies, such as strengthening technical research, increasing product added value, adjusting product structure, and transforming into LED lighting.

　　Daming Lighting established its LED Project Center in August 2011. Since the project was completed and put into operation, in addition to the existing T4/T5 light source and luminaire series, the products will also cover various lighting fields such as LED indoor lighting, LED engineering lighting, and LED indicator lighting. According to the strategic deployment of Chairman Ni Gongda, Daming Lighting must complete the national energy-saving certification of LED products this year, and next year the Daming brand LED products will strive to participate in the "2012 National High-Efficiency Lighting Product Promotion Project Bidding" organized by the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. Ni Gongda also revealed that, for the LED project, the company will be guided by technological progress and driven by the market to forge a development path that conforms to the characteristics of LED light sources.
