Signing Ceremony between International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance and Delft University of the Netherlands Held in Beijing

The signing ceremony between the International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance (ISA) and Delft University of Technology (TUD) of the Netherlands was grandly held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Wu Ling, Chairman of ISA, presented the ISA membership certificate to Mr. van den Berg, President of Delft University of Technology, marking the formal membership of TUD in ISA. The ceremony was attended by dozens of representatives, including Cao Jianlin, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China; Xie Ji, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China; Wu Ling, Chairman of the International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance; Li Jinmin, Executive Chairman for R&D of the China Solid State Lighting Alliance and Director of the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Pei Jingkang, Ambassador of the Netherlands to China; and Mr. van den Berg, President of Delft University of Technology.

　　At the ceremony, Wu Ling, Chairman of ISA, also announced that TUD will become the European organizer of the ISA Innovation Competition, and will co-host innovation competitions worldwide with ISA. The ISA Innovation Competition is a sustained initiative launched by ISA aimed at enhancing public awareness of the energy-saving and emission-reduction benefits of semiconductor lighting and its role in improving people's lives, encouraging the integration and convergence of semiconductor lighting with other fields, and further promoting innovation in semiconductor lighting on a global scale.

　　For the development of the semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry, the establishment of a global innovation network and the expansion of innovative application areas are important avenues for tapping into the energy-saving potential of semiconductor lighting and enhancing public awareness. Vice Minister Cao Jianlin stated in his address at the conference: "The formal accession of TUD to ISA and its role as the European organizer of the ISA Innovation Competition will undoubtedly make tremendous contributions to the global development of innovation in semiconductor lighting, and in particular to the construction of the European innovation resource network for semiconductor lighting and the promotion of innovative concepts."

　　TUD is the largest and most comprehensive polytechnic university in the Netherlands, hailed as the MIT of Europe, with strong capabilities in semiconductor lighting R&D. TUD President van den Berg also stated in his remarks that he is delighted to join ISA and honored to become the European organizer of the Innovation Competition. TUD's strengths lie not only in its solid technical capabilities, but also in its outstanding talents. We hope that developing energy-saving technologies through international cooperation will contribute to the development of the global energy-saving lighting field and to the sustainable development of the environment.

　　ISA, as a non-profit and non-governmental organization in the global semiconductor lighting industry, has carried out extensive cooperation in building the international industry environment since its establishment in October 2010, including the formulation of strategic development blueprints for the global semiconductor lighting industry, global demonstration projects, and the construction of global training networks. It has played a core driving role in strengthening international collaborative innovation and enhancing public understanding and awareness of semiconductor lighting. Going forward, ISA will continue to unite innovation entities across regions, fully leverage their respective advantages and specialties, take innovation as an opportunity, openness as a perspective, alliance as a link, and promotion as a channel, to mobilize more international resources and social forces, drive the innovative development of the semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry, enhance the effectiveness and impact of energy conservation and emission reduction, and raise public awareness of semiconductor lighting.
