Global Lighting Industry Fund Established

The three-day 2nd Guzhen Lighting · LED Lighting Accessories and Production Equipment Exhibition (abbreviated as "Lighting Accessories Exhibition") opened. The "Guzhen Global Lighting Industry Fund", jointly initiated by Guzhen and China Everbright Group, became the focus of media attention. The fund will raise 8.5 billion yuan, all of which will be used to build the "Guzhen Global Lighting Industry Center", an important platform bearing the upgrading of Guzhen's lighting industry. The Guzhen government regards this as an important turning point in industrial upgrading. City leaders Lei Biao, Ma Zhigang, Yin Zhaojǔ, Li Wubiao, and Liu Shengping, Secretary-General of the China Association of Lighting Industry, attended the opening ceremony.

In early March this year, at the "Zhongshan and Central State-Owned Enterprises Strategic Cooperation Symposium" held in Beijing, Zhongshan Guzhen Lighting Capital Co., Ltd., which is affiliated with the Guzhen government, reached a strategic cooperation with China Everbright Group to initiate the above-mentioned fund. Taking the opportunity of the opening of the Guzhen Lighting Accessories Exhibition, Wu Shaohua, Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of China Everbright Group's head office, came with a delegation to sign a formal cooperation agreement with Guzhen.

In addition to the Everbright Group's own investment in the fund, the Everbright Group will take the lead in initiating the raising of an industrial fund, all of which will be invested in the development and construction of the "Guzhen Global Lighting Industry Center", a platform for upgrading Guzhen's lighting industry. The Everbright Group will also provide support in investment promotion and operation of the project, thereby helping Guzhen achieve the phased goal of transforming and upgrading from "China's Lighting Capital" to "World's Lighting Capital" within the next five years.

According to Cao Town Mayor Su Enming, the Cao Town Global Lighting Industry Center project is the first globalized, composite, headquarters-type lighting industry upgrade complex in China. Located in the core area of Cao Town, it covers a planned area of 430,000 square meters with a total investment of 8.5 billion yuan. The project integrates global lighting enterprise headquarters offices, R&D and design, brand exhibitions and trade, international business, and the iconic "King of Lighting" landmark building, supplemented by modern service industries such as finance.

Currently, the project has been included in the key construction projects of Guangdong Province in 2011 and the key construction projects of Zhongshan City in 2011, and is expected to commence construction within 2011.

Other projects signed that day include: the memorandum between the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau and the Cao Town Government to jointly establish the "National Lighting Fixture Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Zhongshan) LED Lighting Inspection Laboratory", and the Zhongda Industrial Group (Cao Town) Semiconductor Lighting Technology Research Center jointly established by the Cao Town Government and the Zhongshan University Industrial Group.
