The 2011 Beijing Lighting Exhibition recently concluded. Judging from this exhibition, indoor lighting products such as LED bulb lamps, straight-tube LED lights, LED downlights, spotlights, etc. were the focus, among which LED bulb lamps were the absolute main attraction, appearing at the booths of most exhibitors. Japan, as a major "stronghold" of the LED lighting market, once led the development and application trend of bulb lamps in the indoor lighting market. At this exhibition, the Japanese manufacturer Toshiba also displayed its E-core series indoor lighting products. With the advancement of LED technology, the product line of bulb lamps is becoming increasingly diverse and the market is gradually maturing.

Regarding outdoor lighting products, companies such as Yangguang Lighting and Hella Germany exhibited their LED street lights. Among them, Hella Germany exhibited its (ECOStreetLine) Square "Urban" series LED street lights, among others. The "Urban" series is equipped with four intelligent LED modules that can be adjusted according to lighting levels S2-S6, and the lamp design has no heat dissipation device. It is understood that, as a century-old automotive company, Hella has long focused on automotive lighting and has accumulated considerable experience. In 2008, it began to devote itself to developing new business areas, striving to apply its accumulated experience from the automotive industry to new non-automotive industrial fields. In the first half of 2010, its new LED energy-saving and environmentally friendly road lighting series was officially introduced to China, and at the same time, Hella Industrial China's LED Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Division was established in Shanghai.

Of course, the entry of companies like Hella, which have accumulated certain experience in lighting technology, into the semiconductor lighting market is not uncommon. As the prospects of semiconductor lighting become clearer, industry giants from the home appliance sector such as Midea have begun to enter, signing strategic cooperation agreements with Guixi City, Jiangxi Province, to build LED bases. This also indicates that the semiconductor lighting industry is entering a new stage of development, in which competition will become increasingly fierce, while integration and survival of the fittest may be the key words.

Additionally, LED is being widely recognized. Beyond entering people's daily lives, LED is also a favorite among designers. Whether in landscape lighting design, lighting design, or visual arts, LED has become an important choice for designers. "LED is a major trend—in our designs, we use LED lighting products for both indoor and outdoor lighting," said one designer.
