Cree and Osram Sign Comprehensive Patent Cross-License Agreement

　　On April 7, 2011, Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE), a market leader in the LED lighting field, and Osram GmbH signed a comprehensive global patent cross-license agreement that reflects both companies' commitment to accelerating the development of the LED market and their great regard for the value and importance of their respective intellectual property. The agreement covers the patents held by both parties in blue LED chip technology, white LED and phosphors, packaging, LED bulbs and luminaires, and LED lighting control systems.

　　Cree has reached LED technology patent agreements with Nichia and Toyoda Gosei, and recently announced the signing of a similar broad cross-license agreement with Philips.
