L’Association de l’éclairage de la province d’Anhui a organisé avec succès le Forum 2026 sur les technologies de l’éclairage dans la région du Yangtsé‑Delta.

On September 13, 2026, the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum, themed “Intelligent Convergence in the Yangtze River Delta: Shaping the Future with Light and Shadow,” was held at the Ruichen Grand Hotel in Hefei. Approximately 350 experts, scholars, technology professionals, members, and corporate representatives from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Beijing, and Tianjin gathered in Hefei to explore cutting-edge industry technologies and collaboratively chart a course for regional coordinated development. Liu Zhenglei, President of the China Illuminating Engineering Society; Tian Wanlong, Secretary-General of the Anhui Provincial Federation of Social Organizations; Feng Wei, President of the Anhui Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society; Hao Luoxi, Vice-President of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), President of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society, and Professor at Tongji University; Wang Haibo, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society and Professor at Nanjing Tech University; and Kang Juan, Secretary-General of the Zhejiang Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society and Professor at China Jiliang University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Additionally, Su Yaokang, Vice-President of the China Illuminating Engineering Society and Supervisor of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society; Guo Ruiqian, Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society; Wang Youjiang, Vice-President; Lü Jiadong, Vice-President of the Jiangsu Illuminating Engineering Society; Qian Zongming, Secretary-General; and Xiao Yongqiang, Deputy Secretary-General; as well as Gao Lulu, Secretary-General of the Anhui Illuminating Engineering Society, all attended the event as leaders and experts from co-hosting organizations.

The 2026 Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum was guided by the China Illuminating Engineering Society, the Anhui Provincial Association for Science and Technology, and the Anhui Provincial Federation of Social Organizations, with the Anhui Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society serving as the rotating host. This year’s forum was selected as a subsidized academic conference project under the Anhui Provincial Association for Science and Technology’s 2026 program, featuring multiple segments such as academic presentations, designer networking sessions, and collaborative business talks.

In his address, President Liu Zhenglei emphasized that lighting technology professionals must continue to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, leveraging technological innovation to serve national strategies and earnestly shoulder the historic mission entrusted by the times. He noted that the lighting industry is currently undergoing a critical phase of digital, intelligent, and green transformation, urging a focus on innovation-driven development to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence and low-carbon technologies into the lighting sector, thereby expanding the application scope of lighting technology across urban development, cultural tourism, nighttime experiences, and other fields. He further stated that the Yangtze River Delta region stands out as one of China’s most dynamic hubs for lighting innovation and boasts the most complete industrial chain. The lighting societies of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui have consistently prioritized serving industry needs, steadily cultivating the Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum, which has gained significant influence within the sector. Since December 2025, the Anhui Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society has successfully hosted key events including the Second China Illuminating Engineering Society Outstanding Young Lighting Scientist Forum, the Anhui preliminary round of the 2026 National Lighting Design Vocational Skills Competition, and the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum, earning recognition as a 4A-level provincial social organization and demonstrating remarkable achievements in supporting industry growth and enhancing institutional capacity.

Secretary-General Tian Wanlong, representing the Anhui Provincial Federation of Social Organizations, extended warm congratulations on the convening of this forum. In his speech, he highlighted the close link between lighting technology and improvements in urban quality and public welfare, expressing hope that lighting-related social organizations will strengthen coordination, act as bridges, establish platforms for exchange and collaboration, and promote deeper integration between enterprise innovation and industrial applications, thus contributing wisdom and strength to the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. He also affirmed that the Anhui Provincial Federation of Social Organizations remains committed to playing a pivotal role as a platform, supporting science-and-tech-oriented social organizations in fulfilling their roles in serving industries, society, and broader development agendas.

President Feng Wei, speaking on behalf of the Anhui Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society, warmly welcomed all attendees. He emphasized that the Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum serves as an important platform for regional cooperation and exchange in the lighting sector, expressing hope that this forum would further deepen collaboration among the lighting societies of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, fostering closer integration between lighting technology and urban development, cultural tourism, and low-carbon smart solutions, ultimately empowering advancements in both technological progress and industrial growth.

Presidents Hao Luoxi, Wang Haibo, and Secretary-General Kang Juan, representing the Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang lighting societies respectively, extended their heartfelt congratulations on the opening of the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum. They unanimously agreed that the Yangtze River Delta’s integrated development strategy presents excellent opportunities for the regional lighting industry, pledging to continue deepening resource sharing and complementary strengths among the four societies, jointly building an open, inclusive, and collaboratively innovative industry ecosystem to propel the Yangtze River Delta’s lighting technology toward even higher levels of advancement.

The opening ceremony and academic presentation sessions were moderated by Yang Mei, Guo Ruiqian, Qian Zongming, and Kang Juan, with a total of 12 distinguished experts delivering insightful academic contributions to the audience.

Li Li, Director of the Light and Shadow Center at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (Beijing), presented a keynote report titled “Five Years of Preparation: Nighttime Blueprints and Practical Implementation,” drawing on exploratory projects in Beijing’s Chaoyang District to demonstrate how nighttime lighting can integrate urban visual culture, enhance nocturnal commercial environments, optimize visitor experiences, and support cross-cultural exchanges—highlighting diverse pathways toward achieving these multifaceted values.

Xu Honghua, Chief Engineer of the Lighting Institute at China United Engineering Corporation, delivered a report entitled “From ‘Rust Belt’ to ‘Showcase’: Three Cities’ Experiences in Revitalizing Industrial Heritage through Lighting,” using Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Wuxi as case studies to explore how industrial legacies can undergo cultural rebirth and functional reimagining via thoughtful lighting design.

Dai Weiwei, Vice President of Hangzhou Huapu Yongming Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., presented a report titled “AI + Urban Lighting: Technologies and Application Models,” examining AI’s implementation in road lighting across three dimensions—energy, labor, and operational systems—and proposing the use of an AI-powered digital assistant named “Brother Yongming” to achieve refined management of urban illumination.

Tian Pengfei, Professor at Fudan University and doctoral supervisor, delivered a report titled “Micro-LED Optical Interconnects: Breaking Through AI Computing Bottlenecks,” sharing pioneering research findings on how Micro-LED optical interconnect technology is overcoming limitations in AI computational power.

Wang Junya, Deputy General Manager of Dongguan Qinshang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., presented a report titled “Sidewalk Energy Storage: Enabling Smart Low-Carbon Lighting and Vehicle–Road Collaborative Innovation,” exploring new avenues for integrating roadside energy storage with smart lighting and vehicle–road synergy.

Sun Fukang, Associate Researcher and Master’s Supervisor at Anhui University of Architecture, delivered a report titled “Large Models and Digital Twins Empowering Full-Life-Cycle Low-Carbon Lighting: Frameworks and Models,” outlining a comprehensive framework and technical model combining large-scale models with digital twin technology for managing the entire lifecycle of low-carbon lighting.

Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Director of the Decorative Arts Division and Head of the Light Environment Design Institute at Zhejiang University Architectural Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., presented a report titled “One Lamp, One City: Urban Renewal from a Lighting Perspective,” sharing insights into the shifting value of lighting in urban renewal through three narratives: “Light That Goes Unseen,” “It’s Not That It’s Dim, But Too Bright,” and “Taking and Letting Go.”

Xia Ling, Associate Professor at Hohai University and Director of the Human–Machine–Environment Integrated Intelligence Research Institute at Hohai University, delivered a report titled “Lighting Quality Assessment: Expanding Spatial Dimensions—From Points and Surfaces to Space,” proposing scientifically grounded evaluation criteria for what constitutes “good lighting.”

Wang Xuechen, Executive Director of the Cultural Tourism Innovation Research Institute at Huajian Group Environmental Institute, presented a report titled “Exploring and Practicing the Nighttime Economy in Culture and Tourism,” analyzing trends in the development of nighttime economies and the value of lighting design based on real-world project experience.

Xue Jun, General Manager of Shenzhen Yuming Information Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled “AI-Powered Intelligent Control Across the Entire City—Yuming Information Illuminates a New Landscape of Digital Urban Lighting,” tracing the company’s decade-long journey of scientific and technological growth to unveil a grand vision for AI-enabled smart city lighting.

Mou Hongyi, General Manager of Guangcheng Light Environment Design (Beijing) Co., Ltd., presented a report titled “Cultural Activation,” sharing specialized practices that leverage light and visual effects to showcase China’s cultural heritage from an artistic design perspective.

Wang Yi, Eastern Sales Manager at Shenzhen Guangfeng Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled “Case Studies and Applications of Guangfeng Technology,” introducing exemplary cases and practical outcomes of Guangfeng’s work in the lighting field.

The expert reports closely aligned with themes of cutting-edge technological innovation and collaborative development in the lighting sector, covering academic research, technological applications, and industry trends, demonstrating exceptional theoretical depth and solid practical grounding, providing attendees with rich intellectual inspiration and valuable lessons learned. During the conference, live online streaming was simultaneously enabled, allowing over 70,000 viewers to follow the academic sessions via the internet.

Following the conclusion of the presentations, a ceremonial handover of the Yangtze River Delta Technology Forum flag took place. Wang Haibo, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society, received the flag from Feng Wei, President of the Anhui Provincial Illuminating Engineering Society, marking the successful closing of the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum amid enthusiastic celebrations. The resounding success of this forum further strengthened exchanges between lighting professionals and enterprises across Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, injecting fresh momentum into the drive for innovation and upgrading within Anhui’s lighting industry. The 18th Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum is scheduled to be held in Jiangsu Province in 2027.

The Yangtze River Delta Lighting Technology Forum was founded in 2003 and is currently co-hosted by the lighting societies of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, aiming to establish a regular platform for academic exchange within the region. The forum focuses on discussions around cutting-edge lighting technologies, technological innovation, and practical applications, encouraging deeper cooperation among the four regions in areas such as industrial synergy, R&D breakthroughs, and talent cultivation, thereby supporting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta’s lighting industry.
