Ushio and ams OSRAM have officially signed a trademark licensing agreement for the OSRAM brand.

Recently, the Ushio Group announced that its INE division (hereinafter referred to as “Ushio INE”) has officially signed a trademark licensing agreement with ams OSRAM (hereinafter referred to as “OSRAM”). Under the terms of the agreement, Ushio INE will continue to operate its specialty lighting products under the OSRAM brand, ensuring the stability and continuity of its existing business while further expanding its presence in the global specialty lighting market.

This collaboration marks a key milestone following the Ushio Group’s acquisition of OSRAM’s former industrial and entertainment lighting businesses. The signing of the agreement clarifies the future operational roadmap for OSRAM’s specialty lighting products, maintaining the stability of the brand, product portfolio, and global partnership framework, thereby safeguarding end‑customer interests to the greatest extent possible.

For many years, OSRAM’s specialty lighting products have earned an excellent reputation in high‑tech markets such as theaters, stage entertainment, industrial manufacturing, and specialized applications, thanks to their superior quality and reliable performance. Following this agreement, these products will continue to be manufactured, marketed, supported, and serviced globally by Ushio INE, with product quality, technical standards, and service levels remaining unchanged.

According to the agreement:

● Medical light sources, airport lighting, cinema projection xenon lamps, semiconductor light sources, and projector light sources will retain the OSRAM brand through the end of 2027;

● Entertainment lighting sources and related products will be licensed under the OSRAM brand until the end of 2031 (with the possibility of evaluating whether to extend the license term upon expiration).

This collaboration explicitly confirms that Ushio INE remains the operating entity, and that all specialty lighting products covered by the trademark licensing agreement will continue to bear the highly regarded OSRAM brand according to the agreed schedule until the license expires.
