Double Drivers of Policy and Market: New Opportunities Emerge for Educational Lighting

Currently, the nation is deeply implementing the Healthy China and Strong Education strategies, placing adolescent vision health and smart campus development at the forefront. The revised “Hygiene Standards for Daylighting and Lighting in Primary and Secondary School Classrooms” will officially take effect on November 1, 2026, marking the entry of nationwide primary and secondary school lighting upgrades into a mandatory compliance phase. As a result, the educational lighting market is experiencing explosive growth.

National Policy Guidance

The Yangtze River Delta, as China’s core hub for the lighting industry, accounts for 35%–40% of the national industry scale. It holds over 60% of the country’s lighting R&D resources and 70% of high-end technical talent. At the same time, the region boasts dense educational resources, with nearly 30% of national demand for campus lighting upgrades. Its industrial advantages are significant, and its growth potential vast. How to precisely align with educational market needs and open up domestic and international sales channels has become the central issue of common concern for Zhejiang lighting enterprises.

Interactive Q&A

During the interactive Q&A session, Teacher Yan Rende provided detailed answers to audience concerns:

Q1: What is the pathway for lighting companies to expand overseas markets through the expo?

A: First, exhibiting companies can register free of charge on MIO’s 13-language digital pre-exhibition platform, which houses 28 million overseas buyer records and delivers targeted procurement requests for lighting products, enabling early pairing and appointment scheduling. Second, cross-border trade matchmaking meetings will be held during the expo, with over 2,000 overseas buyers attending for negotiations. Companies can also register in advance on the AI Exhibition Network to view authentic overseas buyer data and connect with needs ahead of time.

Q2: What procedures are required for companies wishing to participate as guests in concurrent forums?

Forum attendees can register for free participation. If companies wish to serve as guest speakers for technical promotion or brand publicity, they may participate through conference sponsorship, with the organizer providing customized speaking and display privileges.

Q3: Which pavilion houses the lighting exhibition area? What is the minimum exhibition space?

A: The lighting thematic exhibition is located in Hall 7 (School Construction/Logistics Procurement Pavilion), closely aligned with the viewing routes of purchasing decision-makers. The standard booth minimum size is 9 square meters, priced at 10,800 yuan each; bare-shell booths start at 36 square meters, priced at 1,080 yuan per square meter, with no upper limit on area.

Q4: Regarding exhibition participation, what local government policy support is currently available?

A: The expo has already secured local government support. Last year, Yuhang District of Hangzhou offered subsidies of up to 300,000 yuan, while regular booths could receive up to 60,000 yuan. This year, applications have been submitted to the commerce bureaus of various local governments; Hangzhou and Wuzhou have already approved funding, and Guangdong has also added the Asia EduExpo to its subsidy list. Specific subsidy policies follow those of the previous session, and any exhibitor can apply. Additionally, the education ministries of the 10 ASEAN countries have explicitly expressed support, organizing local integrators and traders to visit China for exchanges and negotiations.

Q5: How can follow-up services be coordinated after exhibiting?

A: Companies can register for participation through the Zhejiang Lighting Appliance Association, and the organizing committee will assign dedicated service personnel to coordinate subsequent exhibition preparations, resource matching, and other end-to-end services.

Conclusion

Leveraging the Asia EduExpo to Jointly Explore New Opportunities in Educational Lighting

Mr. Yan Rende concluded by stating that policy dividends and core market demands in the educational lighting sector continue to unfold. The Yangtze River Delta Campus Healthy Light Environment and Smart Lighting Exhibition, backed by official resources, global channels, precise matching, and favorable policies, will fully support Zhejiang lighting enterprises in meeting mid-to-high-end demands and expanding both domestic and international markets.

This online mobilization meeting clearly communicated the expo’s value and participation pathways, charting a course for companies planning to enter the educational lighting arena.
