On October 15–16, 2026, the Fourth Low-Carbon Lighting Innovation Application Workshop and the 2026 Beijing Municipal Urban Lighting Association Technical Exchange Meeting were held in Beijing. Hosted by the Beijing Municipal Urban Lighting Association and the Low-Carbon Lighting Research Center of the China Urban Science Research Association, the event was themed “Renewal, Low Carbon, Smart”, aligning with national policies on urban renewal, dual carbon goals, and artificial intelligence. It brought together representatives from urban lighting authorities, research institutes, design firms, operation and maintenance entities, and enterprises across multiple regions nationwide. Ling Yingming, Honorary Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Lighting Electrical Appliances Association and Secretary of its Party Branch, attended the conference upon invitation.

At the opening ceremony, industry leaders delivered remarks, sharing insights on high-quality urban lighting development, full-lifecycle low-carbon management, and collaborative efforts among industry, academia, and research institutions to build a technical standards system. Sixteen industry experts presented keynote reports, covering topics such as upgrading existing urban lighting infrastructure, implementing AI technologies, energy‑management outsourcing models, DALI smart control, refined light‑environment design, human‑centric lighting, and electrical distribution safety. They also analyzed current challenges—including fiscal pressures, system protocol compatibility, and operational‑maintenance management—while showcasing diverse technological solutions and real-world project case studies.

Concurrent with the conference, the second volume of the “Lighting Technology Innovation and Application Series” was launched, introducing two industry reference books: “Urban Nightscape Lighting” and “Urban Renewal Lighting.” The event also included ceremonies for awarding Healthy Lighting Engineering Certificates. On-site corporate technology booths featured cutting-edge lighting innovations and products, including smart‑driven systems, photovoltaic energy storage, and intelligent control solutions.
