Samsung Releases New LED Lighting Product Line

Source: 互联网 Views: 5889

Samsung today announced 7 LED bulb products aimed at consumers. They come in various shapes — some mimic the traditional incandescent bulb shape with a screw base, while others use canister lighting and spotlight designs, suitable for replacing household incandescent and halogen spotlights. All products are designed to last between 30,000 and 40,000 hours, approximately 20 years of use, with power consumption only 1/4 that of incandescent or halogen bulbs.

Samsung is not the only electronics manufacturer to enter the LED lighting industry. Previously, Toshiba and Panasonic also launched corresponding products, while leveraging their respective strengths—for example, equipping LEDs with networking chips to form home energy management systems and other solutions. A company called Lighting Science Group has even developed an Android application that allows people to control LED operations via mobile devices.
