Hitachi to Develop Patent Information System for China

　　Hitachi, Ltd. recently announced that it will enter the patent information provision business in China. Starting from December 1, 2011, Hitachi will develop a system for China that primarily covers domestic Chinese patents and enables searching and browsing of patent information from a total of 14 countries and regions, including the United States, Europe, and Japan, providing it as the patent information service "digi-patent/s".

　　This service is primarily targeted at the intellectual property departments and patent firms of Chinese enterprises, among others. digi-patent/s was developed based on "Shareresearch", the patent information service provided by Hitachi within Japan.

　　In digi-patent/s, each enterprise can choose to build their own system or use it in the form of SaaS (Software as a Service). The system-build type will be provided by Beijing Hitachi BIT Information System Co., Ltd. (BIS), a joint venture between Beijing University of Technology and Hitachi, while the SaaS type will be provided by Beijing BIT Zhiyuan Technology Development Co., the university-affiliated company of Beijing University of Technology.
