Cree Reports July-September Revenue of US$269 Million, Up 11% QoQ

  LED upstream chip manufacturer Cree recently released its Q1 fiscal year 2012 (July-September 2011) financial results, reporting revenue of US$269 million, up 11% QoQ and 0.2% YoY; operating gross margin dropped from 49.0% in the same period last year to 37.4%; operating profit margin plunged from 31.3% to 12.2%; operating diluted earnings per share were US$0.25, down 58% YoY. For the current quarter (October-December), Cree expects revenue to reach US$300-320 million, operating gross margin to be around 37-38%, and operating earnings per share to reach US$0.25-0.28.


  Cree stated that as of the end of September, inventory value increased by US$27.1 million QoQ to US$203.6 million, with inventory days reaching 107 days.
