Recently, media reports highlighted that Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xingyu Co.”) dismissed newly graduated university students, drawing public attention. Our bureau established a special task force to conduct a comprehensive investigation. The results are hereby announced as follows:

Xingyu Co. recruited a total of 440 college graduates from the class of 2026. It subsequently terminated labor contracts with 107 of them. During the negotiation process, the approach was overly simplistic and rigid, lacking sufficient and effective communication, which led to adverse consequences. The company has expressed deep apologies and has suspended its HR director pending further action. Upon review, no violations were found regarding the receipt of government subsidies related to employment or talent programs.

Following the incident, the human resources and social security authorities promptly provided one-on-one job placement services. As of August 25, among the 107 individuals, 22 have secured new employment, while 14 are participating in interviews with other companies. For the remaining candidates, the authorities will continue offering employment assistance. Our city will urge the company to learn from this experience, draw broader lessons, enhance its human resource management practices, and effectively safeguard employees’ rights and interests. At the same time, we will strengthen inspections and guidance on labor practices across all local enterprises, encouraging businesses to prioritize employee well-being and proactively assume social responsibility.

In the future, our city will continue to implement various employment support measures. If needed, please visit the “Changzhou HRSS” WeChat official account or call our service hotline. We warmly welcome young people to come to Changzhou for employment and entrepreneurship, and we sincerely invite your valuable feedback.
