Nanning Municipal Urban Lighting Management Office Upgrades Lighting Monitoring Private Network

With the continuous increase in Nanning's street lights, landscape lights, and building illumination lights, the Nanning Municipal Urban Lighting Management Office recently carried out an upgrade and renovation of the lighting monitoring private network to achieve more efficient and energy-saving management of these urban lighting systems, realizing real-time monitoring and management of the night scene lighting systems and street lights. Currently, this system is undergoing a pilot test. Since installation, the pilot communication has been good, and various lighting systems are operating normally.

　　According to the relevant person in charge of the Nanning Municipal Urban Lighting Management Office, the old urban lighting system can no longer keep up with the development needs of controlling street lights and landscape lights. For example, the lighting inspection system needs to inspect broken street lights, but the old system has weak radio wave signals affecting signal communication. Due to obstruction areas in remote regions and blind spots, signals cannot be tested, and may even be blocked by tall buildings, affecting monitoring quality. Each time lights are turned on or off, more than 500 points need to be inspected, taking as long as 40 minutes to 1 hour. The old control method cannot reflect the operating conditions of lighting facilities in a timely manner, making maintenance work very passive.

　　The lighting monitoring private network upgrade adopts the GPRS network, requiring only 5 minutes to inspect all lighting terminals in the city. Even if some building control boxes are installed in basements, they can be monitored, greatly improving inspection time. The system can also provide 24/7 wireless control management of street lights, and can adapt to continuously increasing business needs.

Currently, the system is undergoing trial operation at 13 points in Nanning City, including the streetlights managed by No. 8 box on Kunlun Avenue, No. 1 box on Qinghuan Road, No. 9 box at the Airport, and No. 5 box on Qinghuan Road, as well as the landscape lights of buildings such as Mingdu Building, Huidong International, Bogong, and Hangyang International. It is expected that more streetlight pilot projects will be continuously added in the future.
