Three Ministries: Semiconductor (LED) Lighting Product Application Demonstration Project Officially Launched

Beijing time, January 9 news. The semiconductor (LED) lighting product application demonstration project, jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport, has officially launched.

To implement the requirements of the "Notice on Further Intensifying Efforts to Ensure the Achievement of the '11th Five-Year Plan' Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Targets" and the "Notice on Issuing the Development Opinions on the Semiconductor Lighting Energy-Saving Industry" issued by six ministries including the National Development and Reform Commission, and to further promote the green lighting project and promote the healthy and orderly development of the semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry, the three ministries jointly organized the semiconductor lighting product application demonstration project.

Previously, the three ministries had selected 28 semiconductor lighting product manufacturing enterprises through public bidding and determined 50 demonstration project items. At the meeting, the three ministries signed shortlisting and winning agreements with representatives of the winning enterprises. Representatives of testing institutions, shortlisted enterprises, and demonstration projects respectively introduced product performance and project situations.

The semiconductor lighting product application demonstration project aims to test the technical maturity of China's semiconductor lighting products through small-scale pilot applications, promote the healthy and orderly development of China's LED lighting energy-saving industry, and guide the rational application of semiconductor lighting products across various regions.

The three ministries stated that they will conduct tracking and monitoring of the demonstration project, and will evaluate the quality of the applied semiconductor lighting products after one year. The implementation of this demonstration project is of great significance for improving the quality of semiconductor lighting products, enhancing the overall technical level of the industry, and gradually expanding the scope of product application.

With the boost of the third wave of national policy projects, and the continuous expansion of the intensity and influence of the national power restriction policies, LED lighting and other related low-carbon and environmentally friendly products are increasingly favored by many enterprises and engineering projects.
