Two group standards have been officially released.

The China Lighting Fixture Association’s group standards, “Classification of Low-Pressure Mercury Lamps in Domestic and International Mercury-Related Policies and Regulations” (T/CALI 0101-2026) and “LED Luminaires Simulating Skysky Light” (T/CALI 0403-2026), have been approved by the China Lighting Fixture Association and officially released and implemented on August 3. These two standards will be presented and explained at the Second China Lighting Fixture Industry Standards Quality Conference, scheduled for August 6.

“Classification of Low-Pressure Mercury Lamps in Domestic and International Mercury-Related Policies and Regulations”

(T/CALI 0101-2026)

This standard draws on the guidelines outlined in the Global Lighting Association’s document, “Guidance For Mercury Related Fluorescent Lamp Regulations,” while also taking into account the actual production conditions and market demands of China’s lighting industry. By clarifying the distinctions between general-purpose and specialized lighting applications and considering the characteristics and intended uses of low-pressure mercury lamps, it further refines product classification. Developed in compliance with domestic and international mercury-related policies, this standard provides a valuable reference framework to help stakeholders more accurately interpret and implement the Minamata Convention on Mercury.

“LED Luminaires Simulating Skysky Light”

This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for LED luminaires that simulate skylight. It defines clear testing procedures and inspection protocols across critical dimensions—including safety, optics, electrical performance, and reliability—thereby filling an important gap in the relevant standards landscape. This helps standardize the technical requirements for innovative products and supports the expansion of market demand.

The release and implementation of these two standards provide essential technical guidance for the production and sale of innovative products in niche segments, serving as strong support for compliant business development, technological advancement, and market expansion within the industry. On August 6, at the Second China Lighting Fixture Industry Standards Quality Conference (2026) held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, the primary drafting organizations will conduct on-site presentations and in-depth interpretations of both standards. The conference will also feature thematic reports addressing topics such as AI standardization, the development of national mandatory standards for smart home interconnectivity, pilot projects, and high-quality industrial growth.
