Notice from the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Soliciting Nominations for China’s Consumer Brand Excellence Awards for 2026

Departments of Industry and Information Technology of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, cities separately listed in the national plan, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and all plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, accelerate the implementation of the “Special Action Plan for Boosting Consumption” issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, and carry out the “15th Five-Year Plan for Expanding Consumption,” and in accordance with the “Notice from the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Building a Tiered System of China’s Renowned Consumer Products” (MIIT Consumer Letter [2024] No. 369), we are now launching the 2026 call for submissions of China’s renowned consumer products. Relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
I. Guiding Principles
We will expedite the implementation of the work arrangements made at the National Advanced Manufacturing Conference, focusing on national strategic needs and the people’s aspirations for a better life. Adhering to the principles of “self‑initiated application, selection of the best among good candidates, and dynamic management,” we will solicit and develop a group of high‑quality corporate brands and distinctive regional brands across three dimensions: historical classics, contemporary premium products, and cutting‑edge trendsetters. Through coordinated efforts between central and local authorities, we will continue to strengthen support for renowned consumer products, enhance their promotion and the use of their official logos, and establish a Chinese system of renowned consumer products centered on corporate and regional brands, thereby helping the consumer goods industry move faster toward the mid‑to‑high end of the global value chain.
II. Areas of Solicitation
(1) In sectors such as light industry, textiles, food, and pharmaceuticals, we will seek corporate and regional brands that demonstrate strong product innovation, robust market competitiveness, significant brand recognition and reputation, and rich historical and cultural value.
(2) Priority will be given to supporting product brands tailored to specific demographic groups, including age‑friendly products, assistive devices for persons with disabilities, and products for women and children, with evaluation criteria differentiated according to product functionality and suitability.
1. Age‑friendly products: These include senior clothing and apparel, daily assistive items, health foods, special medical‑purpose formula foods, elderly care products, wearable health monitoring devices, rehabilitation and health‑promoting aids, as well as barrier‑free environment improvements designed to meet the quality‑of‑life needs of older adults.
2. Assistive devices for persons with disabilities: These encompass wheelchairs, walking sticks, prosthetics, orthotics, mobility aids (including scooters), transfer devices, artificial joints, lifts, hearing aids, visual aids, artificial eyes, blindness‑assistance tools, and nursing equipment—products intended to prevent, compensate for, or improve physical functions impaired by vision, hearing, limb movement, intellectual capacity, or mental health issues.
3. Products for women and children: These cover everyday care, feeding, clothing, travel, play, and safety‑related products designed specifically for women and infants.
III. Directions for Submission
(1) Corporate brands: Divided into three categories—historical classics, contemporary premium products, and cutting‑edge trendsetters.
1. Historical classics emphasize deep historical and cultural roots; these are time‑tested brands that remain vibrant and influential today.
2. Contemporary premium products highlight strong market competitiveness; they are high‑quality brands established since the founding of New China, known for their excellent quality, strong reputation, and profound impact on the public.
3. Cutting‑edge trendsetters focus on creative design; these are emerging brands that have recently set trends in modern consumption.
(2) Regional brands: Distinctive local specialties with clear regional identity and high industry recognition, typically named using a format of “place name + product/industry.”
