Foreword

From August 24 to 26, the 2026 Provincial Advanced Professional and Technical Talent Training Program—“AIGC Empowering the Digital and Intelligent Transformation of Lighting Enterprises”—was successfully held at Hangzhou Yongdian Lighting Co., Ltd. The program was hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Lighting Electrical Appliances Association. Fifty managers and technical professionals from lighting enterprises and institutions across the province gathered in Linping to explore practical pathways for leveraging AIGC technology to drive digital and intelligent transformation in the lighting industry.

The advanced training course closely aligned with the needs of the lighting industry’s digital and intelligent development, establishing a three-tiered curriculum system of “Awareness–Practice–Application.” It focused on the implementation of AIGC in areas such as enterprise management, technological R&D, product design, and marketing, helping the industry transition from experience-driven to data-driven operations and strengthening its pool of digital talent. The training adopted a blended teaching approach combining thematic presentations, academic exchanges, group discussions, and hands-on field instruction, balancing theoretical depth with practical industrial relevance.

I’m from Sunshine Lighting, quite different from many of you here—most of you are involved in R&D, while I’m a newcomer to the field, working primarily in marketing and domestic sales. Attending this course has been extremely beneficial for us marketers. Previously, whenever we encountered diverse market demands, creating designs for clients required extensive time and communication. After learning about these software tools, the first major shift I noticed was moving from “selling products” to “selling emotional value.” Secondly, the speed at which we can produce content has dramatically improved—tasks that once took 3 to 7 days can now be completed in just minutes, allowing us to quickly connect with customers and gain valuable time. Thirdly, our marketing strategies have evolved; seeing so many outstanding peers’ product cases online has broadened our horizons and sharpened our vision. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to learn here.

I’m a lighting designer at Yongdian Lighting. We’ve mainly studied AI-generated images and videos. From a lighting designer’s perspective, we’ve experimented extensively and gained rich insights. At this stage, AI can indeed help us handle many time-consuming tasks, but there are still certain aspects that require designers to bring their own creative input—these remain irreplaceable. However, through these few days of learning, AI has significantly boosted our efficiency, freeing up substantial time for more meaningful interactions with clients and business partners, thereby reducing overall time costs. I hope this training will further broaden our horizons, keep us abreast of the latest trends, and enable us to stay at the forefront of technological advancement.

Our team’s motto is “AI, Run Fast!” Its meaning is simple yet profound: first, humans should treat AI like diligent “workhorses,” harnessing its full potential; second, we ourselves must quicken our pace and ensure AI doesn’t outstrip us.

After several days of learning, I’ve come to a few key realizations: First, we need to let go of old mindsets. In the past, we might have prided ourselves on accumulating skills and 10 or 20 years of experience and expertise, but in the age of AI, things are entirely different—someone with only brief training may surpass you. As mentioned in class, even high school or junior high students—or those without formal qualifications—can excel in related fields, often outperforming senior engineers. This is crucial; we must avoid becoming complacent.

Second, we must wholeheartedly embrace AI and make good use of this powerful tool as our assistant—not as a replacement. Many media outlets hype narratives about workers being replaced or designers losing their jobs, but those who truly understand the situation recognize that AI is a valuable ally, adding strength to our capabilities.

Finally, I firmly believe that the human brain remains timeless and will never fade away.

As the organizing entity, the Zhejiang Provincial Lighting Electrical Appliances Association will continue to serve as a vital industry platform, focusing on addressing pain points in the lighting industry’s transformation and upgrading. We will persistently build platforms for technical learning, talent cultivation, and industry collaboration, regularly hosting high-quality professional and technical training events to help Zhejiang’s lighting sector seize opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and inject digital and intelligent momentum into its sustainable growth.
