The Third Symposium on the Analysis and Evaluation of the Implementation of Mandatory National Standards in the Lighting Industry Was Held in Nanchang.

To implement the deployment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s work on analyzing and evaluating the implementation of mandatory national standards, following the Lanzhou special symposium, on September 2, 2026, the Nanchang symposium on the analysis and evaluation of the implementation of mandatory national standards in the lighting sector was held as scheduled. The event was convened under the leadership of Beijing Electric Light Source Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Light Source Institute”), the organization responsible for conducting statistical analysis of the implementation of these mandatory national standards in the lighting field. Attendees included Wang Xuhua, Vice Chairman of the China Lighting Appliance Association; Deng Maolin, Deputy Secretary-General; Yu Zaidao, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Shidai Zhiguang Lighting Appliance Testing Co., Ltd.; as well as experts and representatives from more than 20 organizations, including lighting manufacturers, testing agencies, and research institutions. The meeting was co‑chaired by Zhang Wei, head of the Standards Center at the Light Source Institute, and Wang Chong, standards manager of the same center.

Meeting Scene

At the meeting, Wang Chong, standards manager at the Light Source Institute’s Standards Center, first presented preliminary statistical findings from the survey questionnaire on the implementation of mandatory national standards in the lighting sector. Drawing on feedback from the survey, he identified key pain points and challenges in the standard‑implementation process, compiled and analyzed the various opinions and practical issues raised by stakeholders, and reviewed the current status of mandatory standard enforcement. Subsequently, focusing on the implementation report for GB 43473, a mandatory national standard, he provided a detailed explanation of the report’s core content, its drafting framework, and the key areas that had been prioritized. Participants engaged in thorough discussions regarding the completeness of the report’s content, the realism of the issues it highlights, and potential directions for future improvements, offering relevant suggestions that laid a solid foundation for refining and enhancing the quality and efficiency of the draft report.

Going forward, the implementing organization will, in accordance with the division of tasks established at this meeting, continue to advance the work of each specialized project team, ensuring the high‑quality completion of the analysis and evaluation of mandatory national standards in the lighting sector.
