On April 16, OPPLE Lighting held the 4th Wisteria Festival and the 2026 Healthy Light Environment Ecosystem Conference at its Suzhou Global R&D Center. A few years ago, keywords for lighting industry press conferences might have been 'brighter', 'more energy-saving', or 'smarter'. But this time, what OPPLE wants to discuss sounds more 'basic', yet also more complex: when 'healthy light' has become a slogan for every enterprise, how exactly should we define it? And how can we make it truly enter millions of homes, rather than just being a slogan?

The response given by OPPLE is a set of 'combination punches'. At the meeting, under the guidance of industry associations, OPPLE, in collaboration with multiple parties, released China's first white paper focusing on home scenarios titled 'Home Healthy Light Environment White Paper', and simultaneously launched two light environment solutions: the 'Sky Realm Family' and 'Monet Impression Series', along with the AI 'Designer' service. This collectively presents its latest progress in the field of healthy light environments, from research exploration and standard cognition to scenario implementation. In this process, a particularly clear signal was released: Healthy lighting is moving from an industry buzzword and corporate marketing point to a new stage characterized by systematization, standardization, and scenario-based application.

This is not merely a new product launch by a single enterprise, but rather a systematic response to the critical period of transformation in the current lighting industry, which can be regarded as a window to observe the value elevation and paradigm shift in competition within the lighting industry.

White Paper Release:

Filling the Industry Gap, Establishing a New Benchmark for Healthy Home Lighting Environments

Today, with the Healthy China strategy deeply rooted in people's minds and rising demands for quality of life, lighting is no longer just about 'being able to illuminate.' Healthy, smart, and scenario-based lighting has gradually become the new direction for the industry. However, behind the rapid development, many pain points remain unresolved: there is a relative lack of systematic theoretical research and implementation methods; many consumers still hold the misconception that 'high Color rendering index (CRI) equals healthy light'; the delivery of lighting environments and closed-loop management mechanisms are not perfect; combined with high professional design thresholds, it remains difficult for healthy light experiences to truly enter ordinary homes.

In response, Wang Yaohai, founder and chairman of OPPLE Lighting, frankly stated at the Conference that the lighting industry is accelerating from an era focused on meeting basic functions to a new stage that places greater emphasis on health experience, smart technology, and scenario value. Standing at the new starting point of its 30th anniversary, OPPLE Lighting will rely on the technical foundation of SDL (Software Defined Lighting, software-defined light), further promote the transition of light from «product» to «scenario», pay more attention to the relationship between light, space, and people, persist in doing «difficult but correct things», and ensure that different people can find their own suitable light in different scenarios.

Against this industry backdrop, as the core outcome of this Conference, the release of the «Home Healthy Lighting Environment White Paper» fills the theoretical gap in the domestic field of home healthy lighting environments and also becomes an important measure for OPPLE to lead the industry in standardized development. Under the guidance of the China Association of Lighting Industry(中国照明电器协会), OPPLE Lighting's «Home Healthy Lighting Environment White Paper» expands home healthy lighting from a single product dimension to a spatial environment dimension for the first time, focusing on Chinese family living spaces, conducting systematic analysis around industry development, policy systems, and key challenges, and building a theoretical framework and application system for healthy lighting environments oriented towards home scenarios.

The White Paper proposes that a healthy light environment is not merely the optimization of a single indicator, but a comprehensive lighting system built around human physiological mechanisms, visual perception systems, psychological behavior patterns, and architectural spatial characteristics.

The core value of the White Paper lies in its focus on three core concepts: 'visual comfort', 'circadian friendliness', and 'emotional adaptation'. It was the first to incorporate MCPIr, CDMr, Ra+Rf, visual fatigue, m-EDI, spectral rhythm strategies, as well as traditional Chinese color schemes and emotional regulation strategies into the spatial light environment evaluation system, promoting smart lighting from static constraints to dynamic control, providing reference for the industry to deepen research on healthy light environments and promote practical application.

Wang Xuhua, Vice Chairman of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), stated that industrial prosperity relies on the continuous leadership of leading enterprises. The compilation and release of this White Paper fully leverages OPPLE's years of deep cultivation in the home lighting field and market accumulation, and will inject new momentum into the popularization of healthy lighting concepts and the development of domestic lighting demand markets. This evaluation highlights the leading role of flagship enterprises in standard construction and also reflects the industry's urgent need for systematic healthy lighting theories.

The release of the White Paper is not an isolated action; behind it lies OPPLE's ongoing collaborative exploration of industry-academia-research around healthy light environments in recent years. Professor Liu Qiang from the Department of Psychology at Wuhan University and head of the Wuhan University-OPPLE Joint Laboratory for Light Quality and Color Vision stated at the conference that lighting is no longer just about meeting basic visual needs, as the connection between lighting and physical and mental health is being continuously revealed by cutting-edge research.

It is understood that since launching strategic cooperation in 2023, OPPLE and Wuhan University have relied on the 'Joint Laboratory for Light Quality and Color Vision' to conduct systematic research on directions such as 'white light quality' and 'pastel emotion', successively forming quantitative mapping charts of 'pastel light monochrome-emotion' and the 'Comprehensive Evaluation Method for Color Rendering Quality of White Light Sources', among other phased results, providing support for healthy lighting to transition from 'product-driven' to 'science-driven'.

From Standards to Scenarios:

Behind the Solution is the Evolution of "Technology Defining Light"

The establishment of a theoretical framework ultimately needs to land on perceptible scenario experiences. If the white paper answers the question of "how a healthy light environment should be understood and defined," then OPPLE Lighting's simultaneous release of a series of solutions further answers "how a healthy light environment enters real-life scenarios," demonstrating a complete closed loop from theory to practice.

For home scenarios, OPPLE Lighting was the first to reconstruct the healthy light environment assessment system across three dimensions: visual, physiological, and psychological, upgrading light from a single functional indicator to a health environment element that can be systematically defined and continuously optimized , thereby implementing the "Sky Realm Family" Home Healthy Light Environment Solution . This solution targets all age groups to create a more perceptive and adjustable home lighting experience: clearer vision with "Clear Light," "True Color Light," and "Screen Reading Light" to optimize color rendering and light comfort, systematically protecting eye health; balanced physiology with "Rhythm Light" and "Sleep Companion Light" to align with circadian rhythms and balance body and mind; stable psychology with "Pastel Color Light" to regulate emotions and promote well-being.

Reshaping the value coordinates of the lighting industry:

Upgrading to "System Solutions"

China Light Network believes that the value of this conference far exceeds a new product launch. Firstly, it fills theoretical gaps in the industry with a white paper, providing scientific quantitative standards and promoting the transition of the healthy lighting industry from "wild growth" to "regulated development". Secondly, it demonstrates full-link innovation from hardware to software and from products to services, setting an example for industry technology upgrades. Thirdly, through a collaboration model among industry, academia, and research, it drives the industry's transformation from "experience-driven" to "science-driven", helping upgrade the entire lighting industry value chain and addressing current challenges such as fierce price competition and severe product homogenization. Fourthly, it responds to the Healthy China strategy by providing practical solutions to improve human light environments and enhance quality of life, highlighting the social responsibility of leading enterprises.
