In the strategic background of the opening of the national '15th Five-Year Plan'planning start, placing 'high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-strengthening'at the core task, the lighting industry is facing a critical period of transformation towards green low-carbon and intelligent health. To respond to the national innovation-driven development strategy, excavate high-quality innovative achievements and core talents in the lighting and related cross-border fields, commend the outstanding contributions of Fudan people, promote deep integration of industry, academia, research and application, the Fudan University Alumni Association Lighting Class Society, the School of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation School) Department of Light Source and Lighting Engineering (abbreviated as Innovation School) Department of Light Source and Lighting Engineering /Electric Light Source Institute jointly set up 'Lighting Rui Innovation Award'.

Li Zhijun, Co-Chairman of the Fudan University Alumni Association Lighting Chapter, expressed strong recognition and support for the establishment of the Lighting Ruichuang Award. He stated that Fudan lighting alumni are active across all sectors of the industry, making significant contributions to its development through their solid professional expertise and pragmatic spirit of innovation. The Alumni Association will fully leverage its role as a bridge and link, actively mobilizing Fudan lighting alumni both domestically and overseas to participate in the award nominations. Through the "Light of Fudan" series of activities, it aims to promote technical collaboration and sharing of achievements among alumni, unite the efforts of Fudan lighting professionals, drive innovative development in the industry, and build the Fudan Lighting innovation brand.

Zhang Zhen, representative of supporting organization Zhejiang Qicheng Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., stated that Qicheng Electric has been deeply engaged in the lighting field for many years, always adhering to innovation-driven development and fully aware of the importance of innovative achievements and talent to both the enterprise and the Industry. By partnering with Fudan University to support the Lighting Ruichuang Award, the company not only demonstrates its commitment to corporate social responsibility and supports innovative development in the Industry, but also takes an important step to connect with university innovation resources and promote collaborative development among industry, academia, and research. Vice Dean Zhang Wanlu delivered a speech on the intelligent transformation trends in the lighting industry, aligning with the disciplinary positioning of the School of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation. He pointed out that the lighting industry is currently accelerating its development towards intelligence, scenario-based applications, and cross-sector integration, with the convergence of technologies such as intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence into the lighting field becoming the core direction of industry innovation. The team specializing in intelligent optoelectronics at the School will deepen interdisciplinary collaboration, leverage technological advantages in intelligent manufacturing, and jointly carry out R&D and talent cultivation to support the upgrading of lighting products and industrial transformation. Meanwhile, he expressed his expectation that Fudan University faculty, students and alumni would take advantage of the Lighting Ruichuang Award platform to boldly pursue cross-sector innovation and produce more outstanding achievements with both technical and market value.

Guo Ruiqian Professor's speech stated that Fudan University has always attached great importance to technological innovation and the integrated development of disciplines. As a distinctive and advantageous field of the university, the lighting discipline has accumulated profound foundations and rich results over more than forty years. The establishment of the Lighting Ruchuang Award is not only a concrete action in response to the national strategy of innovation-driven development and cultivating new quality productive forces, but also an important exploration for the deep integration of intelligent optoelectronics direction promoting " teaching- research- industry". She expects that everyone will work together to support the award's activities, integrate interdisciplinary resources within the school, link high-quality industry forces, build a platform for display and growth for Fudan's innovative talents, promote the implementation and transformation of scientific research achievements, assist the high-quality development of the lighting industry, and highlight Fudan's responsibility and commitment to serving the nation and empowering the industry.

As an alumni representative, Dr. Yao Hua, founder of Shanghai Ziguang Information Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a presentation titled "Finding Your Place as an Individual Amidst the Grand Noise." Drawing from her personal experiences as an entrepreneur, she explored how innovators can position themselves and move forward amidst the "grand noise" of the times and industry transformation. Building on these long-term insights, she proposed creating a "Light+" environment that ensures both physical and mental well-being through the "Three No's and Three Yes's" philosophy, providing clearer value benchmarks and practical guidelines for the full lifecycle development of smart scene lighting systems.

Associate Professor Yao Qi from the Fudan University Beyond Lighting Institute, representing the faculty, delivered a professional technical presentation titled "Application Spectrum Industrialization Technology." As the head of the Spectrum+ Laboratory, he elaborated on the core advantages, application prospects, and industrialization pathways of application spectrum technology, sharing research findings and applications in light health and light medicine that are closely related to visual optics. As a Fudan University faculty member, Associate Professor Yao hopes that this award will inspire more members of the Fudan community to engage in lighting technology innovation, achieving a win-win scenario for both scientific research value and industry value.

At the ceremony site, Hong Bing, Secretary-General of the Fudan University Alumni Association Lighting Chapter and General Manager of Wuxi Lide Times, provided a comprehensive and detailed interpretation of the Lighting Ruchuang Award. He emphasized that the award will always adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness, strictly standardize the review process, and ensure that the selected innovative achievements are representative, advanced, and practical.

The target audience for the Lighting Ruchuang Award includes Fudan alumni, current students, and faculty and staff (including retirees). The award will focus on four major dimensions of innovation: technological breakthroughs , product iterations , standards innovations , and model upgrades . It aims to select innovative achievements in lighting and related fields that excel in technological innovation, achievement transformation, industry leadership, and cross-border integration, uncovering core technological breakthroughs and scenario innovation models within the Fudan community, and recognizing and incentivizing awardees in the form of " prize money + honorary certificates " .

In the presence of all guests, Professor Zhang Shanduan, Director of the Electric Light Source Institute at Fudan University, officially announcedthe full launch of the 2026 Lighting Ruichuang Award selection. He stated that since its establishment in 1978 , the Electric Light Source Institute at Fudan University has always taken "deepening lighting research, cultivating industry talents, and empowering industry development" as its mission. It has accumulated nearly 50 years of profound expertise in fields such as lighting and special light sources, semiconductor optoelectronics, healthy lighting, and smart lighting, and has cultivated over 3000 high-level professional talents for the country. The establishment of the Lighting Ruichuang Award is to deepen " Teaching-Research-Industry"integration is an important practice and a key measure to inherit the spirit of Fudan Electric Light Source and gather innovative forces in the industry. It is hoped that the award will serve as a link to deeply integrate the academic wisdom of Fudan people with industrial practices, injecting core momentum into the green, intelligent, and high-end development of the lighting industry.
