Price hike of up to 50%! Signify issues two price increase notices

Recently, Signify (China) Investment Co., Ltd. issued two price adjustment notices.

Accordingly, the "2026 Philips Traditional Product Price Adjustment Notice" indicates that Signify (Philips Lighting Business) will increase the sales price and recommended resale price for multiple traditional products under the Philips brand starting February 1, 2026.

This price adjustment covers traditional lighting products across multiple categories including health lamps, industrial lamps, UV purification lamps, and ballasts, with a maximum increase of up to 50%.

Regarding this significant price increase, Signify provided a clear explanation in the notice: As raw material supplies for traditional products continue to tighten, prices of various raw materials have risen consecutively, and exchange rates have fluctuated significantly, substantially impacting the cost of our products.

It is worth noting that Signify's price increase was not targeted solely at traditional product categories; concurrently, it issued a second price adjustment notice titled '2026 Philips Brand Engineering Channel Professional Luminaire Price Adjustment Notice', specifically aimed at engineering channel dealers, thereby further expanding the scope of price adjustments.

This letter clearly states that, due to the continuous rise in raw material prices and supply shortages, starting from March 1, 2026, purchase prices for dealers of certain professional luminaire products in core engineering channels will be adjusted, affecting multiple core engineering categories.

According to incomplete statistics, as of now, more than 50 LED lighting and related industry/supply chain enterprises in China have successively issued price increase notices. These include international giants, leading domestic companies, and a large number of small and medium-sized supporting manufacturers, forming a trend of "whole industry chain coordinated price increases," which is far from being just a short-term market fluctuation. For example:

January 28, leading enterprise in the LED power supply sector Inventronics stated that after careful assessment, it will adjust prices for product lines significantly affected by cost pressures. Starting March 1, 2026, adjustments will be made to product lines most concentrated under cost pressure; prices will be moderately increased, with an average rise of approximately 5%-15%.

Industry insiders analyze that the price surge in the LED lighting industry is not a short-term phenomenon. With raw material prices remaining high and supply chain structures continuously adjusting, the upward pricing trend is expected to persist for the next 1-2 quarters. Some small and medium-sized manufacturers may be forced to exit the market due to cost pressures, while industry concentration is expected to further increase.
