The content regarding the tariff adjustment for lighting products mainly covers preferential tariffs for major lighting products from ASEAN ten countries, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Serbia, and other countries/regions, as well as two items: the import provisional rate for "high-pressure mercury lamps used in lithography equipment under heading 84.86" and the provisional rate . I. Further reduction of tariff rates under the RCEP agreement
Benefiting from the continued advancement of RCEP, ASEAN countries' main lighting product agreement tariffs have further decreased, with rates dropping from last year's 5.6%-14.7% to this year's 2.5%-13.5%; most products saw a tariff reduction of more than 0.5 percentage points.
South Korea's applicable tariff rates for major lighting products have decreased from 0%-9% last year to 0%-8% this year, a reduction of more than 0.3 percentage points.
Japan's applicable tariff rates for major lighting products have decreased from 5.8%-16.3% last year to 3.4%-13.8% this year, a reduction of more than 0.6 percentage points.
Australia and New Zealand agreement tariff rates were also reduced by more than 0.2 percentage points, falling to 2.5%-15% and 3%-16% this year, respectively.
Pakistan's applicable tariff rates for major lighting products have further decreased, with the reduction narrowing by 0.5 percentage points.
Nicaragua lighting products' agreement tariff rates have also decreased, from 4.8%-8% last year to 3.2%-7% this year.
Ecuador : The agreed tariff rates for major lighting products have decreased from 6.4%-8.9% last year to 3.2%-8.4% this year.
Serbia: The agreed tariff rates for major lighting products have decreased from 4%-8% last year to 3.5%-7% this year.
The reduction of agreed tariff rates helps lower the cost of some raw materials and promotes industrial collaboration between our country and other nations. However, the lowering of import thresholds also introduces more competition, continuously forcing the industry to transform towards high quality. This requires the lighting industry to increase innovation efforts, through technological upgrades, brand building, and differentiated competition, enhance product value-added, develop more diverse application scenarios, and thereby build a healthier and more competitive development pattern for the industry under the new situation .
II. Provisional import tariff rates for high-pressure mercury lamps used in lithography equipment
Starting from January 1, 2026, the provisional import tariff for " ultra-high-pressure mercury lamps used in lithography equipment under tariff heading 84.86" will continue to be implemented. This tariff rate remains consistent with that of 2025.
