Come and see! The export data for China's lighting industry in 2025 has been released
The General Administration of Customs released the latest import and export data showing that in 2025, China's cumulative lighting product exports totaled approximately $49.9 billion , a year-on-year decrease of about 11%, accounting for 2.2% of total electromechanical product exports. December's monthly exports were approximately $4.7 billion, a year-on-year decrease of about 18%;环比 growth of 20% compared to November.

I. Main Export Products Overview
2025年,灯具产品整体累计出口额约372亿美元,同比下降12%,约占全部照明产品出口总额74%。其中,固定式灯具出口额约86亿美元,同比下降21%;可移式灯具出口额约26亿美元,同比下降约25%。同时,光伏的且设计为仅使用发光二极管(LED)光源的其他电灯及照明装置、圣诞灯具等少部分灯具产品实现出口量和出口额双增长,出口量同比分别增长23.6%和8%,出口额同比分别增长4.2%和0.8%。
Total export value of electric light source products is approximately $5.5 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of about 12%. China's electric light source product exports totaled approximately 25.4 billion units, a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 11%. Among them, LED electric light source product exports accounted for about 63% ( LED light bulb exports were about 5.9 billion units, a YoY decrease of 0.6%; LED tube exports were 550 million units, a slight YoY decrease of 0.2%. LED module exports were about 9.8 billion units, a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 66%), incandescent lamp-type products accounted for about 29% (among which, unlisted incandescent bulbs ≤12V accounted for about 22% of total exports), tungsten halogen lamp-type products accounted for about 4%, fluorescent lamp-type products accounted for about 1%, high-intensity gas discharge lamps accounted for about 0.1%, and other electric light source products accounted for about 2%.
II. Situation of Main Export Destinations
1. North American Market
In 2025, China's export value of lighting products to the North American market was approximately $10.8 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decline of about 22%; this accounted for about 22% of China's total exports, a decrease of 3 percentage points compared to the same period last year. By product category: exports of luminaires to North America were approximately $7.9 billion, down 24% YoY; electric light source products were approximately $1.2 billion, down 21% YoY; non-mainstream lighting products were approximately $1.7 billion, down about 11% YoY.
Affected by factors such as additional tariffs imposed by the US, China's export value of lighting products to the US in 2025 was approximately USD 9.7 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 23%; this accounted for about 20% of China's total exports, down 3 percentage points compared to the same period last year. By product category, exports of luminaires shipped to the US saw the largest decline, with an export value of approximately USD 7 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of about 26%. Electric light source product exports were approximately USD 1.1 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of about 22%. Non-major lighting product exports were approximately USD 1.6 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of about 13%.

2. European Market
From January to December, China's export value of lighting products to the European market was approximately USD 13 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decline of about 3%; this accounted for about 26% of China's total lighting product exports, an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the same period last year. By product category: exports of luminaires to Europe were approximately USD 10.4 billion, down 4.6% YoY; electric light source products exports were approximately USD 1.1 billion, down 8.5% YoY; non-mainstream lighting product exports were approximately USD 1.5 billion, up about 18%.

China's exports of lighting products to the EU amounted to approximately USD 9.9 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decline of about 1%; this accounted for about 20% of China's total lighting product exports, an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the same period last year. By product category: exports of luminaires to the EU were approximately USD 7.9 billion, down 3.7% YoY; electric light source products totaled approximately USD 900 million, down 5.7% YoY; non-primary lighting products reached approximately USD 1.1 billion, up about 29% YoY.
3. Asian Market
In 2025, China's export value of lighting products to the Asian market was approximately $17.5 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of about 12%; this accounted for about 35% of China's total exports, a 1 percentage point decline compared to the same period last year. By product category: exports of luminaires to Asia were approximately $12.9 billion, down 13% YoY; electric light source products exports were approximately $2.1 billion, down 11% YoY; non-mainstream lighting products exports were approximately $2.4 billion, down about 9% YoY.

4. African Market
Jan-Dec, exports of lighting products to Africa amounted to approx. $3.4 billion, a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 4.6%, maintaining the growth trend since May this year; accounting for approx. 7% of China's total lighting product exports, up 1 percentage point compared to the same period last year. By product category: exports of luminaires to Africa amounted to approx. $2.4 billion, a YoY increase of 2.4%; electric light source product exports amounted to approx. $400 million, a YoY increase of 3.1%; non-mainstream lighting product exports amounted to approx. $600 million, a YoY increase of 20%.

III. Average Export Price of Key Products
In 2025, the average export price of China's lighting products continued to decline, with average export prices for lighting products under 45 tariff codes falling year-on-year. Among key products, the average export price of LED modules was USD 0.058 per unit, down 28% year-on-year. LED bulbs had an average export price of USD 0.46 per piece, down 16% year-on-year. The average export price of LED tubes was USD 1.57 per piece, down 12%. Fixed luminaires had an average export price of USD 5.91 per unit, down 17%. Portable luminaires had an average export price of USD 10.57 per unit, down 26%; in December this year, the average export price for this product was approximately USD 10.41 per unit, a 15% decrease compared to January. Other electric lamps and lighting apparatus designed solely for use with light-emitting diode (LED) sources exported at an average price of USD 2.95 per unit, down 16% year-on-year.
