Crashed Down! A 30-Year-Old Lighting Enterprise in Dongguan Files for Bankruptcy
On November 4, the Dongguan Intermediate People's Court officially ruled to declare Dongguan Xianlin Decorative Lighting Co., Ltd. bankrupt. This long-standing major decorative lighting manufacturer, operating for a full 30 years, has finally completed its journey in the lighting industry due to severe insolvency .

The Dongguan Intermediate People's Court accepted its bankruptcy liquidation case on May 9, 2025. Upon verification, it was confirmed that the company's current asset valuation is only 31.2053 million yuan, while total debts reach a staggering 221 million yuan. The massive gap between assets and liabilities cannot be bridged through conventional operations . Although the administrator attempted to convene creditor meetings, no restructuring plan was proposed, ultimately leading to a somber exit.
The bankruptcy of Xianlin Decorative Lighting is not an isolated case in the lighting industry. In June 2025, Hong Kong-funded traditional enterprise Foshan Weiao Lighting ceased operations after 23 years due to impacts from international situations, a single market strategy, and disordered internal management, ultimately halting production out of necessity due to insufficient orders. In April of the same year, Foshan Fenghuai Electrical Appliances was also ruled bankrupt by the court because its assets were insufficient to repay debts of 19.48 million yuan; its "scatter-shot" diversified operation led to a lack of core competitiveness, becoming the straw that broke the camel's back. Looking back at 2024, bankruptcy cases within the lighting industry supply chain spanned the entire year.

The collapse of Xianlin Decorative Lighting is not only an elegy for a long-established manufacturer but also a warning bell during the industry's transformation period. As the sector shifts from "scale competition" to "value competition", if companies fail to transform in time, create differentiation, control costs, expand into new markets, or innovate technologically, even a thirty-year-old factory cannot escape elimination. When "survival" becomes the primary goal for many enterprises, only by breaking traditional path dependencies and building moats through technology, brand, and efficiency can they navigate cycles and welcome a new dawn for the industry.
