2024 Hotel and Commercial Space Lighting Design Forum Successfully Held in Shenzhen

December 12th afternoon, the '2024 Hotel and Commercial Space Lighting Design Forum' was successfully held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum took place during the '2024 Lighting Industry Supply Chain Technology Innovation and Hotel and Commercial Space Engineering Lighting Exhibition'. Hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), the forum focused on 'New Concepts, New Trends, New Products, and New Solutions' for hotels and commercial spaces, exploring how to better apply lighting technology to serve application scenarios. Through this platform for knowledge sharing and information exchange, it helped enterprises more clearly grasp the development trends of hotels and commercial spaces and their lighting design.

Wang Xuhua, Advisor of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), pointed out in his opening speech at the forum that China's lighting industry faces dual pressures from international market uncertainty and weak domestic demand. The key to development lies for lighting enterprises in integrating into and deepening their focus on niche markets. Hotels and commercial spaces are currently seizing development opportunities driven by favorable policies, active markets, upgrading demand, and industrial linkage. We hope the forum will focus on "New Concepts, New Trends, New Products, New Solutions", exploring together with peer enterprises the development trends and expansion strategies of niche markets. He emphasized that CALI is always committed to the healthy, orderly, and high-quality development of the lighting industry supply chain, and will continue to provide services and support for building platforms, expanding markets, and creating brands for enterprises. Yao Meng, Deputy Director of the Exhibition Information Department of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), introduced the current status of China's lighting industry and the hotel industry, and analyzed how lighting technology can empower the development of hotel and commercial space design. In her report, she introduced lighting technologies that can be focused on in hotel and commercial scenarios from several aspects: high-quality white light, color light, offline voice control, sensors and data systems, Li-Fi, miniaturized modular lighting products, building-integrated lighting design, and green low-carbon industry supply chains, and provided development suggestions for lighting designers and production enterprises.

Six representatives from the design field and typical enterprises shared their views and experiences on the direction trends, specific measures, etc. of lighting applications in hotels and commercial spaces.

Current pain points and difficulties faced by hotel and commercial space lighting

Gu Wenyi, from the perspective of a professional hotel designer, proposed a 80% fixed combination to maintain standards and 20% continuous improvement to seek breakthroughs solution, addressing the practical situation where lighting consultants and equipment manufacturers need to balance cost, quality, delivery cycle, and brand standards. He also detailed specific implementation methods.

元达涛通过分析传统灯具在产品设计方面存在的控光差、调试难、装饰性弱等问题，以及在现场实施中安装调试受限和多场景应用等问题，结合西顿照明芳华、黑神、北斗星等系列产品的性能特点和应用，提出了解决方案，阐述了“给建筑以生命，给空间以灵魂”的理念。

张君梅深入分析了睡眠作为酒店产品重要价值之一，对客人尤其是老人、母婴等特殊人群健康的影响，提出了好光好睡眠的理念，认为睡眠灯应具有“健康光”、“光线管控”和“体验感”三大特点，希望通过灯光助力酒店行业为用户改善睡眠质量。

刘继武分享了通过优化照明体验、提供情绪价值的理念，介绍了如何通过节日灯饰营造出富有灯光、色彩、艺术和喜悦的瞬间，从而触发人们在特定场景下的情感共鸣，给人带来深刻的体验，进而使其成为永恒的记忆。他结合文化与情感、创造沉浸式体验介绍了博烁诗（Blystofos）品牌的解决方案和在技术优势和成本优势。

Real-world problems, future trends, and action recommendations for hotel lighting design

Xu Qingliu emphasized that lighting designers must first possess the ability to understand the vocabulary of architecture and space design. By analyzing luxury and high-end hotel design cases in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc., and combining them with his experience in domestic hotel lighting design in China, he pointed out that circular economy and sustainable development, integrated design of architecture, interior, landscape, activities, and furniture, unique regional cultural expression, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence, light luxury, and art will be the development trends for high-star hotel lighting design in the next stage.

Gu Wenyi proposed from a technical perspective that future D5, Koolux and other emerging effect expression and lighting simulation tools will gradually replace existing renderings, illuminance calculations, hand-drawn sketches, and scene diagrams. In outdoor landscape lighting design, language, output, and rendering AIGC large models will have wider applications.

Liao Qiongkai approached the topic from the design process and outcomes, thinking and transformation, proposing concepts such as reducing energy consumption while maintaining survivability, saturated innovation, storing energy, and delayed blooming across cycles by drawing analogies to various plant characteristics in nature. He hopes to work with industry peers to value professional capabilities and the basic foundation, reflect on how light reaches the inner self, build a sanctuary for the soul, better realize the value of lighting, enable users to gain a deeper understanding, and promote the development of the lighting design industry.
