The IES Lighting Awards are presented by the IES (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America), which has a history of over a century. Along with the later-established IALD Awards (International Association of Lighting Designers Awards, presented by the International Association of Lighting Designers) and the Lighting Design Awards (presented by Lighting Magazine in the UK), they are recognized as the three most authoritative lighting design awards globally today. The IES Award is the oldest among them, representing outstanding achievements in contemporary lighting aesthetics and technological advancement.

"A thousand miles of canal, only this loop."

The Canal Park is located at the confluence of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and Wuxi's ancient moat canal. Bordered by Huishan Mountain to the west and surrounded by water on three sides, it covers an area of approximately 160,000 square meters. With the millennium-old historical culture of the Grand Canal as its soul, it is a rare public art night park in Wuxi that combines natural beauty with artistic charm.

Wuxi Lighting Design Institute adopted the overall design concept of "Playful Interest, Ancient Charm, and Elegant Taste" to create three major display areas. In the Tech Multimedia Zone, it provides an ultimate experience of Lighting Metaverse interactive light and shadow show; in the Parent-Child Aesthetic Education Zone, elegant and quiet lighting serves as the main tone, complemented by a mist system, filling the Canal Park at night with a dreamy and enchanting atmosphere; in the Culture and Art Zone, lighting is cleverly linked with themed IP culture.

Notably, the Canal Park was the first to adopt the Pre-guided Smart Sensing Light Control System. Wuxi Lighting controls street lighting via a smart lighting cloud platform, customizing sensors to achieve smart linkage with urban road lighting. After 10 PM daily, courtyard lights in the park feature dynamic control effects of "lights on when people approach, off when they leave, and following movement", enhancing urban quality and intelligent management while meeting city lighting needs.
