130 million! Beijing Chaoyang to upgrade landscape lighting | Landscape lighting projects underway in multiple locations

The Beijing Municipal Commission for Urban Management's "Beijing '14th Five-Year' Urban Lighting Development Plan" released in 2022 states: "During the '14th Five-Year' period, Beijing will implement 13 key urban lighting construction projects, including upgrading the nightscape effects of the '3rd and 4th Ring Roads', supplementing and improving landscape lighting along the 3rd and 4th Ring Roads, and comprehensively enhancing the nightscape effect."

Recently, the China Government Procurement Network published tender information for the "Sanhuan Road Core Section Nightscape Lighting Construction (Design and Construction Integration) Procurement Project" and the "Liangma River International Style Buildings within the Third Ring Road and Surrounding Buildings of Maizidian Blue Harbor Business District Nightscape Lighting Construction Project".

Information shows that the "Sanhuan Road Core Section Nightscape Lighting Construction (Design and Construction Integration) Procurement Project" carries out nightscape lighting construction based on buildings and structures, green landscapes, and bridge bodies along both sides of the Sanhuan Road core section (Yuanmiao Bridge - Guomao Bridge). The client requires the project contract performance period to be 60 days. The "Liangma River International Style Buildings within the Third Ring Road and Surrounding Buildings of Maizidian Blue Harbor Business District Nightscape Lighting Construction Project" requires a contract performance period of 30 days.

Among them, the "Sanhuan Road Core Section Nightscape Lighting Construction (Design and Construction Integration) Procurement Project" has a tender amount as high as 110.219 million yuan, making it one of the few hundred-million-level nightscape lighting construction projects this year, providing development opportunities for lighting enterprises.

Recently, the landscape lighting construction on the eastern extension of Chang'an Avenue in Chaoyang, Beijing, has been completed. This marks that the 'One Axis Connecting the Golden Line, One River Carrying History' nightscape, rich in Chaoyang characteristics and highlighting its cultural heritage, is about to be brilliantly presented to people.

工程围绕东延长线景观风貌、通惠河文化历史等，以“最有温度的行政通廊”为设计主题，以“金顶引领、主次收放、精致刻画”的手法打造。即住宅建筑使用线型灯，打造出“金顶引领”的天际线；公共空间综合运用线型灯、点光源、投光灯，选择性构建景观，形成节奏变化“主次收放”的道路氛围；高架桥等视线重点载体则进行“精致刻画”，打造标志形象，形成视觉焦点。此次景观照明提升全部采用低耗能的LED灯具，具有节能、耐用、低碳等优点。

At the press conference, Liang Baiqing, Deputy Director of the Urban Management Committee of Chengdu, stated that the committee followed the principle of "reasonable zoning and light-dark balance" clearly defined in the special landscape lighting plan to comprehensively plan Chengdu's nightscape.

First, following the approach of "prioritizing functional lighting and improving landscape lighting according to local conditions", the Municipal Urban Management Committee guided responsible units to complete 18 municipal key landscape lighting improvement projects and 47 district-level key landscape lighting improvement projects. Landmark landscapes such as Jiaozi Twin Towers and Tianfu Art Park were created. Chengdu's nightscape presents a style with prominent highlights, moderate brightness and darkness, grandeur and dignity, and elegance and refinement.

Secondly, the Municipal Urban Management Committee established a spatial layout for nightscape lighting atmosphere creation with the theme "Shuguang Jinyun, Rongyao Tianfu" during the Universiade. The "One Core" refers to the core building cluster centered on the Shuangzi Twin Towers, which will host multiple light shows featuring Chengdu characteristics by integrating digital media, AR, and other art forms during the Universiade. The "Two Axes" are the city's north-south axis and east-west axis. The north-south axis sequentially showcases the distinct styles of old Chengdu and new Tianfu, reflecting the harmonious coexistence of traditional culture and modern urban life; the eastern section of the east-west axis focuses on the theme of "Viewing Mountains," while the western section centers on "Viewing Water," connecting key nodes, well-known business districts, and competition venues to display the beauty of Chengdu's mountains and rivers through light and shadow.

Thirdly, in combination with the Business Department's "Ten Major Consumption Scenarios" and the Cultural and Tourism Department's cultural exchange activity locations and routes, five night tour recommendation routes with Chengdu characteristics have been identified: traditional culture tour route, technology and modernity tour route, Jinjiang night tour route, fireworks life tour route, and vitality art tour route, and an electronic map for night tours has been produced simultaneously.

Fourthly, the Municipal Urban Management Committee continues to promote the special rectification work of "Lighting the Way Home". As of now, a total of 1,155 streets and 25,000 street lights have been upgraded; over 100,000 street lights have completed energy-saving light source retrofitting and single-lamp controller installation, achieving a comprehensive electricity saving rate of 47%.
