1. Media question: How is lighting design in China after the pandemic? What are the changes in trends?

Mr. Lai Yunong, IALD Greater China Coordinator and founder of Shiyu Lighting Design Group, answered:

The impact of the pandemic on lighting engineering and the lighting services industry is evident. Domestic demand for market growth in landscape lighting has declined, and investors have less motivation to develop urban nightscape / landscape lighting, leading to increased survival pressure across the entire lighting industry / supply chain. IALD will also share topics related to cultural tourism and night tours this year; please pay attention to the guests' sharing at that time.

Mr. Rong Renjie, Head of Lutron Greater China, answered:

The pandemic has also impacted lighting product companies. In addition to affecting the domestic market, it has created export pressure on international exports. Reduced product demand and disrupted supply channels have caused a certain degree of contraction in the domestic market, while the export market faces unprecedented challenges. We are ready to meet these challenges and adjust our strategic direction at any time, and we should also maintain confidence.

2. Media Q&A: How do you view the development trends of lighting design? How do you view AI intelligent ChatGPT?

Mr. Guan Yuxiang, Head of Product and Marketing for Signify China's Engineering Channel, answered:

The market environment is crucial. Post-pandemic, people's demands have increased, with higher needs for energy saving, innovation, and experiential aspects. This presents significant opportunities for the lighting industry, which should strengthen its capabilities to seize these opportunities.

Mr. Lai Yunong, IALD Greater China Coordinator and founder of Shiyu Lighting Design Group, answered:

ChatGPT is more machine-like language; it is rational. Lighting designers, however, represent experience, art, and aesthetics, making their work emotional.

3、媒体提问:照明行业趋势如何发展?

Mr. Rong Renjie, Head of Greater China at Lutron, answered:

With socio-economic development, lighting design trends have gradually moved beyond the traditional concept of using illuminance and uniformity as design indicators. Greater emphasis is now placed on human-centric design and meeting spiritual needs. By comprehensively considering illuminance, color temperature, and color rendering, light can be perfectly integrated with architecture, thereby creating a favorable physiological and psychological environment.

Mr. Guan Yuxiang, Head of Product and Marketing for Signify China's Engineering Channel, answered:

The trend toward intelligence is a major direction in the development of smart homes, enabling remote control of temperature, lighting, security systems, and various household appliances to create an intelligent living environment. Creating a futuristic ambiance relies on technology, smart home solutions, and human-centric comfort.
