Yang Qichang wins the 3rd "Sichuan Outstanding Talent Award"


On March 28, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government held the award ceremony for the 3rd "Sichuan Outstanding Talent Award" in Chengdu. The conference honored 14 outstanding talents from various fields in Sichuan Province. Researcher Yang Qichang from the Urban Agriculture Institute was successfully selected.


Researcher Yang Qichang has been dedicated for many years to the study of the interaction mechanisms between facility environments and crops, as well as industrialized cultivation technologies. He has achieved multiple original results in improving luminous efficacy and energy efficiency in plant factories, regulating mechanisms for rapid crop propagation, and efficient utilization of light and heat in facilities. As the primary contributor, he has received two Second-Class Prizes for National Science and Technology Progress, one China Patent Gold Award, and more than ten provincial and ministerial-level awards. Yang Qichang was awarded the third "Sichuan Outstanding Talent Award"


Dr. Zhang Wei serves on the International Commission on Illumination


Recently, the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) confirmed the appointment plans for the new chairs of its six divisions. Dr. Zhang Wei, Secretary-General of SAC/TC 224, has been appointed as the Chair of CIE Division 6. CIE Division 6 is responsible for the fields of photobiology and photochemistry, which are closely related to key development directions in the lighting industry, such as Photobiological safety, non-visual biological effects of light, Healthy lighting, agricultural lighting, ultraviolet radiation, and educational lighting.


To date, several Chinese experts in the lighting industry have held positions in international lighting standardization organizations. In addition to Dr. Zhang Wei, Professor Hao Luoxi from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and Dr. Wei Minchen from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University serve as Vice Presidents of the CIE. Aldo Kamper officially assumes role as CEO of ams OSRAM


Recently, ams OSRAM announced that Aldo Kamper officially assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board on April 1, 2023, while also serving as CEO of OSRAM Licht AG, a subsidiary of the ams OSRAM Group. Former CEO Ingo Bank will leave ams OSRAM at the end of April 2023. US proposes a comprehensive ban on the sale of incandescent light bulbs


According to Fox News on April 1, 2023 (local time), the U.S. federal government is preparing to ban the sale of general service incandescent lamps and other products nationwide as part of its agenda to improve energy efficiency and address climate change. It is reported that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) established a regulation in April 2022 prohibiting retailers from selling incandescent lamps, with the ban taking effect on August 1, 2023. Under the regulation, general service incandescent lamps and similar halogen lamps will be banned and replaced by LED products. Economic Operation of China's Lighting Industry in 2022


According to estimates by the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), the sales revenue of China's lighting industry in 2022 was approximately RMB 639 billion, a Year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 6%. Among this, the total export value was USD 62.7 billion, a Year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 4%.


In 2022, the overall prosperity of the lighting industry declined, fluctuating between the stable zone and the cooling zone. Among the four sub-indexes of prosperity—Revenue, profit, Export, and assets—only the asset prosperity index remained in the stable range.


In 2022, the year-on-year growth rate of industrial value added for large-scale enterprises in China's lighting industry exceeded -5%, with production growth gradually slowing down, far below that of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide. Hangke Optoelectronics aims for the Beijing Stock Exchange


Hangke Optoelectronics, a company on the basic layer of the NEEQ, recently submitted materials for IPO tutoring filing with the Beijing Stock Exchange. Hangke Optoelectronics specializes in LED electric light source business. Its LED electric light source products include various types of LED filaments and the resulting bulb series, which are directly applied to commercial and residential lighting, and are widely used in fields such as indoor healthy lighting, outdoor landscape illumination, and special lighting. Hangke Optoelectronics aims for the Beijing Stock Exchange, specializing in LED filament lamps


Inventronics Successfully Acquires OSRAM Digital Systems Eurasia Business


On April 4, Inventronics announced the successful acquisition of the relevant business of ams OSRAM Eurasia Digital Systems, a global leader in optical solutions. The digital systems business focuses on power supplies for traditional and LED lighting, related optical modules, software, and connectivity components. These key components enable smart lighting solutions. Through this acquisition, Inventronics has expanded its regional influence and product portfolio.
