CALI Conducts Research on Lighting Industry Development in Guangdong

From March 27-30, He Ye, Vice President of China National Light Industry Council and Chairwoman of China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), along with Association Secretary-General Wang Zhuo and secretariat staff, conducted research in Guangdong on the development of the lighting industry to understand the current situation of enterprise development. They had in-depth exchanges on the current situation and main problems faced by lighting enterprises in the development process, and how to leverage the association's role and functions in serving enterprises.

The research team visited Foshan Electrical and Lighting Co., Ltd., a Vice Chairman unit of CALI, to understand the company's production and operation. Accompanied by Lei Zihe, Vice Chairman of CALI and General Manager of Foshan Lighting, Wei Bin, Deputy General Manager, Yan Yan, Deputy Director of the Market and Product Planning Department, and others, they visited the main production workshops of Foshan Lighting's Gaoming production base and the smart lighting showroom at its Chancheng headquarters. They held full exchanges on key topics related to high-quality development and transformation, including how to leverage patents, technological innovation, standardization, and talent team building to continuously increase product categories, improve quality, and enhance brand value.

Chairwoman He Ye expressed her appreciation for the achievements Foshan Lighting has made in the development of the lighting industry over the years. She also affirmed the company's current active efforts to expand into new tracks and new fields such as automotive lighting and marine lighting through technological innovation. She hoped that Foshan Lighting would continue to play a leading role as a leading enterprise and contribute to the sustainable and healthy development of the lighting industry.

Delegation visits FSL Gaoming Production Base

The delegation visited the Association's Vice Council President's unit, Guangdong Sanxiong Jiguang Lighting Co., Ltd., and held discussions with company leaders including Chairman Zhang Yutao, Vice President Lin Yan, and Board Secretary Yan Xinyuan. Through a digital platform, they also learned about the operations of the company's production base in Chongqing. Both sides exchanged views on the development and changes of the lighting industry chain in recent years, future trends in the lighting industry, and the impact of multiple internal and external factors on the industry.

Chair He Ye affirmed Sanxiong Jiguang's commitment to its original mission and its achievements through steady development over the years. She noted that the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC proposed "focusing the focus of economic development on the real economy" and issued corresponding supporting policies. Currently, the lighting industry is not highly concentrated, with leading enterprises accounting for a relatively small share of total industry output. She said that the Association will, in accordance with national policy requirements, integrate resources from green low-carbon, intelligent health, standards, and technology perspectives to serve enterprises, help them solve pain points and difficulties in development, and promote high-quality development of the industry.

On March 28, the Association delegation visited the Midea Global Innovation Center in Foshan and conducted research on the development and operations of Meizhi Optoelectronics, a council member of the China Lighting Association. They were accompanied by Li Meng, Technology Management Director of Midea Group, Wu Zekuan, President of Meizhi Optoelectronics, and Lin Chunqiu, Operations and Human Resources Director. R&D Director Chen Xi, Lighting Channel Director Chen Haoxun, and Standards Lead Hong Duying participated in the discussions.

Chairman He Ye gained a comprehensive understanding of Midea's development history, corporate governance mechanisms, smart lighting scenario applications, Meizhi Optoelectronics' development plans, technology investment, and the rapid development achieved through technological innovation across multiple areas including products, market, and brand. She particularly affirmed the achievements made by Meizhi Optoelectronics under the difficult circumstances of the three pandemic years, as well as its development layout and innovative measures in smart lighting. She stated that, as an important segment of Midea Group, Meizhi Optoelectronics benefits from the Group's accumulated technology and collaborative empowerment from various sectors, holding significant development potential. She pointed out that, as China advances from a major lighting industry nation to a powerhouse, high-quality development is needed. She hopes Meizhi Optoelectronics will leverage Midea's experience in the home appliance industry to bring new opportunities to the development of the lighting industry. The Association will serve enterprises in aspects including quality and efficiency improvement, standardization construction, scientific and technological achievement evaluation, and laboratory capability building.

During their stay in Guangdong, the Association's research group also visited the supervisor unit Guangdong Snowlight Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and the council member unit Guangzhou Yajiang Optoelectronics Equipment Co., Ltd., to learn about the development of lighting in segmented fields such as UV sterilization and disinfection, stage lighting and architectural lighting, as well as the current production and operation status of the enterprises.

Guangdong is an important cluster area for China's lighting industry. Since the beginning of the year, lighting enterprises in Guangdong Province have actively restored production and domestic and foreign trade markets through various means, playing a good leading role in stabilizing the annual production and sales situation of China's lighting industry.
