Wang Zhuo, Secretary-General of the China Lighting Association

Wang Zhuo, Secretary-General of the China Lighting Association, hosted the event and introduced the plan for the "2023 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition". Registration for the 2023 competition opens today and will close in early September. The main competition categories remain divided into Physical Product and Conceptual Design, with two special tracks: Agricultural Lighting and Landscape lighting , providing a platform to showcase outstanding design works in specialized fields.

Since its inception in 2011, the competition has gained considerable influence in the industry and has played a positive role in enhancing original lighting design capabilities. Currently, lighting/luminaire design is evolving towards integration, intelligence, health orientation, and systematization. In line with these trends, this year's competition introduces the new connotation of "I Light": drawing on the homophone of the English letter "I" as "love," it reflects the passion and enthusiasm of organizers and participants for lighting—loving lighting, loving light; "I" represents "me," I emit light, I guide with light. Meanwhile, words starting with the letter "I" further elucidate industry hotspots and trends: Invention (innovative, creative lighting); Integrative (comprehensive, holistic lighting); Intelligence (smart, intelligent lighting); infinite (limitless possibilities across various fields), injecting new vitality into the competition.
