Professor Ke Xizheng of Xi'an University of Technology elected as Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences

Recently, Kuznetsov, President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and Ivanitskaya, Chief Academic Secretary, sent a certificate to Professor Ke Xizheng of Xi'an University of Technology, congratulating him on his election as an Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Professor Ke Xizheng is an outstanding expert in the field of wireless optical communication in China. After a series of procedures including nomination by academicians, material review, investigation, expert defense, voting by the academic department, deliberation by the presidium, and issuance of the certificate, Professor Ke Xizheng was elected as a Foreign Member of the Information Control Department of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences is a UN-recognized scientific institution, the largest in Russia. Its members are scientists and experts who have made significant achievements in natural sciences and humanities, holding considerable academic influence. The academy comprises 24 departments, including 18 Nobel laureates, over 270 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and more than 30 academicians of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Foreign academicians represent outstanding scientists from 48 countries worldwide.

Professor Ke Xizheng obtained his Bachelor's degree from Shaanxi Institute of Technology in 1983 and his Doctor of Science degree from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996. From 1997 to 1999, he conducted postdoctoral research at Xidian University under the supervision of Professor Wu Zhenwen, a renowned expert in laser scattering and transmission in China; from 2000 to 2002, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Second Artillery Engineering Institute under the supervision of Professor Deng Fanglin, a pioneer in the field of "navigation, guidance, and control" in China.

Professor Ke Xizheng is a member of the editorial boards of "Journal of Electronics", "Infrared and Laser Engineering", "Journal of Electronic Measurement and Instruments", "Applied Optics", "Journal of Xi'an University of Technology", "Journal of Time and Frequency", "Journal of Atmospheric Science Research", and "Journal of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering". He served as an invited associate editor for the special issues on "Wireless Optical Communication" in "Journal of Electronic Measurement and Instruments" (May 2017), "Optoelectronic Engineering" (March 2020), and "Journal of Electronics" (November 2021). He is a reviewer for national science and technology awards, and a member of the third disciplinary evaluation group of the Shaanxi Provincial Degree Committee. In 2000, he received the Chinese Academy of Sciences Excellent Young Scholar Award. In 2009, he was honored with the title of "Outstanding Science and Technology Commissioner of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and Guangdong Province". In 2015, he received the title of "Green Willow Golden Phoenix" Leading Figure in Yangzhou City. In 2018, he won the China Industry-University-Research Innovation Award, and in 2019, he received the Second Prize for China Industry-University-Research Innovation Achievements. In 2020, he was awarded the title of "Excellent Science and Technology Worker of the China Institute of Electronics". In 2021, he received the Best Technical Award (System Category) at the 9th Aladdin Lamp Awards. He has delivered keynote speeches at numerous international conferences. He served as Vice Chair of the IEEE ICECE (IEEE the 4th International Conference on Electronics and Communication Engineering) in 2020, and as Chair in 2021 and 2022. He is Vice Chair of the Optical Communication Division of the International Science and Technology Conference Institute (ISTCI). In 2021, he was Program Committee Chair of ICAIT (International Conference on Advanced Infocomm Technology). He is a member of the Academic Committee of the 2021 IEEE 21st International Conference on Communication Technology. He served as Chair of the 2nd International Conference on Optics and Communication Technology (ICOCT 2022) in 2022. He is also a member of the Program Committee of the 2022 International Optoelectronic Innovation Conference. He serves as a reviewer for journals including Optics Express, Chinese Journal of Electronics, Results in Physics, Journal of Modern Optics, Applied Optics, Waves in Random and Complex Media, and Optics and Laser Technology.

Professor Ke Xizheng has received 18 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards since 2001, including one first prize and six second prizes. He holds more than 30 authorized Chinese patents, has published 11 monographs with Science Press, 10 monographs with Springer Publishing House, and over 400 academic papers in domestic and international journals. His Baidu Academic H-index is 40 and G-index is 64. He has supervised more than 30 doctoral students.
