Midstream Lighting announces completion of acquisition of horticultural lighting company Hyperion Grow Lights

Recently, one of the core manufacturers of flood lamps globally, Midstream Lighting, announced the completion of its acquisition of the horticultural lighting company Hyperion Grow Lights. Midstream will retain the Hyperion brand for its horticultural products and continue to be led by former Hyperion Managing Director Jonathan Barton.

This acquisition further confirms Midstream's desire to expand its reach in the global LED lighting technology sector—gaining stronger international influence in the aviation, marine, sports, and horticulture markets.

Jonathan established the Plessey Semiconductors Grow Light business unit in 2016 and led its spin-off into Hyperion Grow Lights in 2020. Now as Horticulture Director at Midstream, Jonathan will drive brand integration—leveraging Midstream's global reach and cutting-edge Solution to provide Hyperion with more specialized horticultural expertise.

Midstream plans to make continuous investments in its horticulture business to support new and existing customers. This includes the previously reported production line of 20,000 units per year to deliver the innovative Hyperion Pro and Pro Max horticultural grow light series. Designed by the R&D center located at Midstream in Milan, this new series combines advanced Lens technology with the latest high-efficiency LED and Hyperion air cooling systems, significantly improving greenhouse productivity.

Jonathan Barton, Midstream's Horticulture Director, commented on this announcement: "Currently, international food security faces immense challenges.
