Liu Shengping, Party Branch Secretary and Vice President, stated in the event that the Peking University Red Building was the headquarters of the New Culture Movement, the birthplace of the May Fourth Patriotic Movement, and one of the important origins of the Communist Party of China. On the eve of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the China Lighting Association's decision to hold a party-themed activity at the Peking University Red Building is profoundly significant.

Chairman He Ye and Vice Chairman Liu Shengping led a tour of the Red Building
Chairman He Ye pointed out that this themed Party Day activity coincides with the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the imminent convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Held at the Red Building of Peking University, the event focused on the glorious achievements of the Communist Party of China and the origins of its revolutionary legacy, aiming to help participants deeply comprehend the Party’s original aspiration and mission, and gain a thorough understanding of the historical significance and contemporary value of the great founding spirit of the Party. Party members are expected to consolidate their learning outcomes, revisit their admission vows, reflect on their initial intentions upon joining the Party, and further strengthen their Party spirit. She called on everyone to make greater efforts in thoroughly understanding and effectively implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, consciously using the Party’s innovative theories to equip their minds, guide practice, and promote industry development. All members should go all out to implement the association’s key annual tasks and welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with high morale and outstanding performance. The Red Building of Peking University witnessed many “firsts” in the history of the Communist Party of China: it nurtured the earliest group of founding talents, was where the banner of Marxism was first raised, hosted the earliest university courses on Marxist theory in China, and saw the establishment of the first Communist Party organization in northern China. During the visit, participants used mobile audio guides to listen to explanations while viewing historical photographs, revolutionary artifacts, and precious video footage. They reviewed the red revolutionary deeds of pioneers such as Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu, and Mao Zedong, who led the New Culture Movement, initiated the May Fourth Patriotic Movement, disseminated Marxist ideas, and awakened public consciousness. They learned in detail about how revolutionary predecessors overcame numerous difficulties, pressed forward relentlessly in their search for a path to national salvation, and achieved great awakening through successive patriotic movements. After the visit, all staff members of the Secretariat participated in a walking tour around Shichahai Lake, experiencing firsthand the rapid changes in urban water system landscape construction in Beijing’s core area since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the significant achievements in protecting the city’s historical and cultural heritage. During the walk, participants also visited the Former Residence of Soong Ching-ling at Houhai. Through exhibitions on Soong Ching-ling’s life and a photo exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Shanghai Communiqué between China and the United States, they learned about the illustrious achievements and noble character of Soong Ching-ling, the Honorary President of the People's Republic of China and a renowned great fighter for patriotism, democracy, internationalism, and communism.

The Party-themed activity day is a time classroom for all members of the Secretariat, especially young backbone personnel, to deeply study and inherit glorious traditions and carry forward revolutionary spirit, further stimulating the power of unity, progress, and positive contribution within the Association's Secretariat.
