Cao Xiaobing of Xuyu Optoelectronics: Energy saving, emission reduction, and standards promote high-quality development in lighting
Against the backdrop of global energy depletion, how to improve the environment and address resource shortages, the concept of green and low-carbon is becoming popular across society, and energy saving and emission reduction have been promoted and implemented in various industries. How to promote energy saving and emission reduction of lighting products throughout their life cycle has become a hot topic in the industry.
At the Ming Classroom live salon held on the evening of September 24, Cao Xiaobing, Deputy General Manager of Technology at Xuyu Optoelectronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., interpreted current standards such as ecological design, product energy efficiency, and lighting system energy efficiency in the lighting industry. He discussed green product design and energy saving standards, aiming to enhance the understanding of standards among enterprises and relevant personnel, advocate the concept of energy conservation and emission reduction to help achieve the "dual carbon" goals, strengthen low-carbon and environmental protection awareness among lighting professionals, and provide ideas and references for enterprises to pursue high-quality development.

Green Product Evaluation - Lighting Products
There is a wide variety of lighting products with diverse classification methods. Based on the principles and framework stipulated in GB/T 33761—2017 "General rules for green product evaluation", and comprehensively considering factors such as consumer attention, consumption upgrade demands, market share, ecological environment, and impact on human health, combined with the current status of standard development within the industry, the scope of products for evaluation has been selected and defined. Research and drafting work on the green evaluation standards for lighting products is currently underway.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, evaluation requirements, and evaluation methods for green lighting products. It applies to the green product evaluation of light sources (including reflector-type self-ballasted LED lamps and non-directional self-ballasted LED lamps) and luminaires (including LED panel lights, LED downlights, LED luminaires for road and tunnel lighting, and LED floodlights) within lighting products.

Lighting Product Energy Efficiency

To implement the guiding principles of the Standardization Administration of China regarding standard integration, this is a revision of the national standard GB 30255-2013 "Minimum energy performance values and energy efficiency classes for non-directional self-ballasted LED lamps for general lighting services" (Project Approval No. [2007] No. 21 of the Standardization Administration of China). The revised standard adds minimum energy performance values and energy efficiency classes for three types of lighting products: LED downlights, directional self-ballasted LED lamps, and non-directional self-ballasted LED lamps.
