Announcement of the Judging Results for the “2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition · Agricultural Lighting Special Category”
The judging for the "2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition · Agricultural Lighting Special Category," hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry(中国照明电器协会) and the People's Government of Guzhen Town, Zhongshan City, and co-organized by the Secretariat of the China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition, the Agricultural Lighting Professional Committee of the China Association of Lighting Industry, China Light Network, and Agricultural Lighting Network, concluded on August 25, 2022.
Since its launch on March 31, 2022, the '2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition · Agricultural Lighting Special Category' has received active participation from both within and outside the industry, with a total of 87 valid entries. Starting August 16, 2022, online public voting was conducted, receiving a total of 130,675 votes. Scan the QR code below to view the online voting results.

On August 23, expert review was conducted through centralized online video seminars. Representatives from the Zouqu Town Government, the leading unit of the Agricultural Lighting Professional Committee of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), supervised the entire review process online.

The expert review panel is jointly composed of experts from the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), the National Electric Light Source Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Beijing), the Planning and Design Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Luminaire Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The expert group conducted scoring and comprehensive evaluation of the entries based on more than ten indicators, including "originality", "market acceptance", "promotion of plant/animal breeding", and "ease of installation", focusing on aspects such as energy saving and environmental protection, innovativeness, practicality, functionality, and aesthetics.
In her speech, Wang Zhuo, Secretary-General of the China Lighting Association, pointed out that the number of entries for the "2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition · Agricultural Lighting Special Category" increased across the board compared to last year. In particular, it attracted a batch of conceptual works from current students, providing us with very novel design ideas. She hopes that the evaluation experts will act as gatekeepers from their respective professional and technical perspectives with fairness and impartiality, carefully review and judge the entries, conduct strict evaluations, and take responsibility for each work, each author, and the entire competition.
After review, a total of 8 entries were awarded the Excellence Award, including 3 in the Home category and 5 in the Commercial category. The award ceremony will be held during the China (Shenzhen) Lighting Industry Chain Technology Innovation Exhibition on September 15, 2022, at the "China Smart Agriculture Lighting Innovation Forum". In addition, the works winning the Excellence Award will be recommended for the selection of the first, second, and third prizes in the functional category of the China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition.
To encourage creations and participation by current students and more industry professionals, the Residential Category selected 7 conceptual shortlisted entries in addition to 3 outstanding physical works. Conceptual entries that receive the Shortlist Award will be recommended for evaluation in the Creative Category of the China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition.

Featuring a prominent silver-gray finish with a tech-inspired aesthetic, it also offers a Space Gray variant with a darker gray tone reminiscent of overexposed space backgrounds. Its structural design draws inspiration from the modular assembly and separation concepts of space rockets, resulting in a stackable shelving system that balances aesthetics and practicality.
2. Technical Highlights
This product integrates hydroponic planting technology. Based on the LED panel, a set of white grilles is added, which is both aesthetically pleasing and serves as an optical Lens; each unit is designed with interlocking upper and lower curved profiles, allowing perfect stacking to form an attractive and space-saving layered structure.
Indoor Growing Rack — Zhongshan Shanzai Agricultural and Forestry Technology Co., Ltd.

Primarily designed for homes and offices, enabling indoor flower cultivation and vegetable gardening. It allows children to engage in hands-on learning about plant growing, while helping the elderly cultivate flowers and grow vegetables as dietary supplements.

1. Design Concept
Based on application scenarios for horticultural lighting products, linear plant lights are often used as top light sources and for inter-plant supplemental lighting. According to actual plant production and layout requirements, there is a greater need for luminaires that can adapt light distribution to increase the PPFD value on the illuminated plant plane, improve spatial light utilization efficiency, and achieve the goal of high-efficiency energy saving.

1. Design Concept
This product is mainly used for small potted plants in homes and offices. As people are accustomed to placing a small green plant in indoor spaces to improve their living and working environments, it not only alleviates work fatigue but also adds a touch of fun to life. Therefore, a professional luminaire specifically designed for potted plants has been developed to provide light compensation. The main body adopts aluminum + PC plastic materials, ensuring excellent heat dissipation performance for the light source, making the product more durable and reliable. Meanwhile, with high-quality surface treatment, the overall appearance of the product appears more minimalist, modern, and business-like with a technological feel, allowing it to blend into architectural spaces as a decorative piece.
The overall design of the luminaire draws inspiration from "water." Both water and light are sources of life, providing essential energy for plant growth. Therefore, the main body of the luminaire is shaped like the "ripples" created when a water droplet hits the surface of a lake, incorporating both life elements of light and water. The product series is named "Source," symbolizing both the origin of life and enduring heritage. The overall design of this product mutually embodies and interprets both form and meaning.

② The light source integrates an intelligent control module that can adjust lighting duration and luminance according to the needs of different plants.

1. Design Concept
The product shape is formed by smooth circular segments, evoking the feeling of a Chinese window. Standing inside looking out, or standing before the luminaire to view vibrant plants, resembles viewing plants on a display from within a window. The overall form is a segmented circle, offering aesthetic appeal from both near and far. It resembles the gate of a Chinese courtyard, conjuring images of lush greenery in small circles.

Design Concept: This smart home plant light draws inspiration from the shape of a mushroom, creating an appearance that is more appealing. The mushroom cap serves as the lighting area, equipped with an adjustable lift mechanism below that automatically activates during use. The mushroom base is the planting area and is detachable. This design provides great convenience for indoor home gardening.

1. Design Concept
Design Description: This design adopts a geometric grid surface造型, breaking through the structural form of previous agricultural lighting luminaires. The lamp cap illumination angle is adjustable; combined with intelligent touch screen design, it can automatically control light intensity, quickly adjust parameters, and monitor plant status.

Desktop Succulent Grow Light — Tang Chuihan, Wang Yunqi, Zheng Xin

1. Design Concept
The product is designed to enhance the playability, ornamental value, and interactivity of small plants. The inner rotatable light ring and planting cup structure allow for convenient observation of plant conditions while adjusting the lighting area, further improving the playability and interactivity of desktop potted plants.
2. Technical Highlights
Two light rings with a total of 16 4200K full-spectrum plant-specific LEDs promote the formation of anthocyanin and phytochrome, enhancing color and vibrancy.
