2022 Lao Hong Takes You to GILE | Highlights of GILE

As in previous years, the long-awaited 27th Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) officially opened on August 3, 2022, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.

According to data released by the organizers, this exhibition, held concurrently with the Guangzhou International Building Electrical Technology Exhibition (GEBT), gathered 1,288 brands from 13 countries and regions, covering a total exhibition area of 110,000 square meters across 11 halls. Compared to last year, the number of exhibitors decreased, with major companies such as Signify, NVC Lighting, and OPPLE not participating. However, as a bellwether for the lighting industry, GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition) remained vibrant, attracting lighting and related manufacturers from around the world to Guangzhou to showcase new technologies, products, and technological trends.

This year's exhibition is themed "New Era, New Responsibility." Multiple exhibition zones focus on specific sub-sectors, featuring special areas such as the Smart Health Cross-Border Demonstration Pavilion and the Biological Lighting Demonstration Zone. Xunman Lighting & OSRAM Digital Lighting System

OSRAM Digital Lighting Systems exhibited jointly with agents such as Xunman Lighting. As an industry-leading luminaire manufacturing solution and component supplier, Xunman Lighting brought partners the most advanced Human centric lighting (HCL) luminaire manufacturing solutions at this exhibition. Through mature and advanced technical solutions involving LEDs, power supplies, and lenses, Xunman Lighting can assist luminaire manufacturers in rapidly developing HCL luminaires tailored to practical applications.

Xunman Lighting is a professional agent for high-quality lighting products from OSRAM, Philips (lighting business: Signify), OPPLE, Refond LED beads, Silan COB, and Lifud. With dual warehouses in East and South China, it maintains ready stock of over 100,000 lighting product varieties. Its supporting services provide luminaire manufacturers with high-quality power supplies and light source solutions through excellent supply chain solutions, market intelligence, and luminaire design expertise.

We also saw OSRAM's Zhanxing integrated connected lighting control system, DALI PRO G2 lighting control system, as well as various series of power supply products such as OSRAM outdoor waterproof LED drivers, linear office LED drivers, commercial lighting LED drivers, and outdoor DALI dimming products. For example, the OPTOTRONIC new generation wireless smart LED driver (OT Wi) is based on the same hardware and can be compatible with Bluetooth-based communication protocols such as Qualified Bluetooth Mesh (QBM) or Casambi. Users can adjust the output current at the mA level via NFC technology, and it is also compatible with central emergency lighting power supply systems.

Boland

Nanjing Bolande Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was established in March 2009 and has been committed to the research and development of power electronics and new energy products.

At this GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition), Bolande showcased its new high-efficiency, high-reliability LED driver / power supply products. The exhibited series includes 40~200W outdoor driving Solution, 250~1200W plant lighting driving Solution, 800~1800W stadium lighting driving Solution, etc.

Outdoor LED drivers for various power ranges, ultra-compact size with digital programming function, adjustable output current, meeting the needs of smart lighting and deep dimming.

The GSL series, SLL/SLH series, and FGL/FGH series horticultural lighting drivers are widely used in the field of horticultural lighting. They have achieved significant upgrades in appearance and electrical characteristics, featuring high efficiency, easy installation, easy control, and support for customization. Among them, the SLL series power supplies can be built into luminaires for integrated use.

Feiyetai Electronics

Shenzhen Feiyetai Electronics Co., Ltd., established in June 2008. The company specializes in the R&D and manufacturing of LED high-bay lights, floodlights, street lights, tri-proof lights, stadium lights, plant growth lights, explosion-proof lights, etc.

At this GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition), Feiyetai mainly exhibited the following products: explosion-proof light series, three-proof lights, LED round high-bay lights, heat sinks, outdoor lighting power supplies, horticultural lighting power supplies, and more.

Feiyetai has provided high-quality LED lighting services to 1,200 customers in over 80 countries worldwide in the fields of industrial lighting, commercial lighting, and outdoor lighting, widely used in warehouses, factories, sports venues, supermarkets, schools, parking lots, etc.

Sosen Power Supply

As a well-known brand in the LED driver / power supply industry, Sosen Power made a grand appearance at Booth C48 in Hall 4.2 with innovative products across multiple fields including Horticultural lighting, Industrial lighting, and Outdoor lighting, attracting significant attention.

The VP-*BHB all-in-one power supply, dedicated to horticultural lighting, features precise dimming with built-in step dimming. It supports both single-luminaire control and networked control for external dimming. Available output power options include 320/400/650/730/1000W, making it a leader in the field.

The newly upgraded industrial lighting power supply CNL-E covers a power range of 80-250W, with efficiency up to 96%. The entire fixture is lighter in weight and can be externally connected to sensors such as infrared and light control.

According to staff, Sosen Power also showcased new products for emerging fields such as industrial control and UV curing, actively expanding into new application markets.

Qicheng Electric

CQC/Qicheng was founded in 1994 and is a domestic manufacturer that pioneered the R&D, manufacturing, and export of street light controllers. Manufactured according to international standards, its products hold UL, Zhaga, TUV, DEKRA, SGS, CB, CE, EMC, RoHS, REACH, and other certification certificates.

At this GILE, Qicheng showcased its original designs compliant with NEMA, ANSI C136.41, and UL773 standards, including smart street light connector (socket) products, as well as ZHAGA BOOK 18 connector (socket) and housing kit products.

It is worth mentioning the CQC Qicheng-NEMA smart light controller with a 7-pin base. It features a screw-free/tool-free installation design for easy installation and improved efficiency; a standard NEMA interface for plug-and-play simplicity in later maintenance and replacement; and a gold-plated arc contact design, where rotational friction during locking self-cleans the contact surface for more reliable connection.

Lideda

Lideda made a stunning appearance with its full range of bio-lighting products, including the latest upgraded versions of its flagship products: 351V plant red light and 303H white light. Among them, the 351V Plant Red Light 5.0 upgraded version L9 features two major highlights. First, parameter efficiency is improved by 1.5%, with a PPE efficiency value as high as 4.2 umol/J @700mA. Second, a new gold plating process has been added, improving sulfur resistance by 3%. When the product is placed in a sulfur-containing environment (Ta=25℃±5℃, 1g/1000ml) and continuously lit with a current of 350mA for 4000H, the PPE efficiency retention rate is 97%.

Lideda also partnered with Sanan to showcase finished horticultural lighting products, such as the Phoenix and Feiyan luminaires, which won the "2021 China International Lighting Luminaire Design Competition · Agricultural Lighting Luminaire Award". The exhibition also featured artificial climate chambers using Lideda LED beads, plant growing racks for pasture grass, and home planting boxes.

It is worth mentioning that Lideda has also launched high-end medical aesthetic products such as beauty therapy lamps and beauty cabins, as well as UVA\B\C series products, collaborating with upstream and downstream partners to expand and lead new trends in the future market.

UL Solutions lighting solutions cover smart lighting and control, human centric lighting, photovoltaic lighting, horticultural lighting, UV germicidal lamps, and automotive lighting, providing efficient one-stop testing, certification, and global market access services. At the same time, it develops relevant standards for emerging lighting markets, bringing new opportunities to the industry.

For example, its Human centric lighting (HCL) verification service, based on standards such as UL DG24480 and CIE S026, provides evaluation and verification services for LED chips, control modules, luminaires, and applications in specific scenarios. The solar-like light verification adopts spectral testing for LED chips or luminaires to verify the proximity to the solar spectrum.

UL Solutions hosted an on-site seminar, inviting numerous senior experts to share insights on lighting-related standards (such as Matter), technological developments, and regulatory requirements. The event focused on new trends in the lighting industry and provided answers to attendees' questions. It was introduced that the Matter standard is launched and led by the CSA (China Solid State Lighting Alliance). As a technological turning point, it will serve the smart home sector, aiming to facilitate interconnectivity among devices from different ecosystems or using different protocol types. The standard is expected to be released this autumn.

Unilumin

Entering the Unilumin Technology exhibition area, many people gathered in front of a naked-eye 3D large screen to take photos. On the screen, a cute pet cat appeared lazy and comfortable, lifelike, with distinct 3D Modeling, creating a realistic effect. At this exhibition, Unilumin Technology focused on "Digital Light Display, Smartly Connecting the Future," creating multiple immersive experience zones. It realistically restored representative scenarios such as tunnel lighting, the intelligent control experience zone for Road lighting, and light display city sentinels, allowing visitors to experience innovative smart transportation technology on-site.

Huaquan Electric

Foshan Huaquan Electrical Lighting Co., Ltd. was founded in 1986 and is a national high-tech enterprise dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of lighting control devices. At this GILE, the company exhibited products such as lighting control devices, smart multi-function pole systems, 5G smart cities, and "edge + cloud" solutions for smart parks.

Nationstar Optoelectronics

NationStar Optoelectronics showcased Eyelove™ Healthy lighting LED, as well as solutions for automotive LED, landscape lighting, schools, and high-end lighting. The DL series of Eyelove™ Healthy lighting LEDs uses violet light excitation with patented spectrum technology, closely mimicking the solar spectrum. This significantly reduces eye strain, offers superior Color rendering with Ra up to 98, color fidelity index Rf up to 97, and color saturation Rg close to 100. The automotive LED solution is mature, covering full vehicle requirements. Products for high-end Indoor lighting feature advantages such as adjustable dual Color temperature and intelligent Dimming.

Xuyu Optoelectronics

As one of the first batch of "Little Giant" enterprises recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Xuyu Optoelectronics adheres to closely following the development trends and update cycles of high-end LED packaging technologies and device manufacturing processes both domestically and internationally. At the exhibition, it showcased independently developed technologies such as low-blue-light, high-luminous-efficacy healthy lighting full-spectrum LED technology and high-quantum-efficiency plant growth LED technology, all of which have reached an internationally advanced level.

Among them, the low-blue-light, high-luminous-efficacy healthy lighting full-spectrum LED technology can achieve a CRI greater than 98 and R1-R15 greater than 95. It pioneers dual-blue-light full-spectrum technology, combining the advantages of single-blue and violet full-spectrum technologies, with independent intellectual property rights, controlling blue light peaks to reduce the risk of damage to retinal photoreceptor cells. High-photon-efficiency plant growth LED products are widely used in supplemental lighting scenarios such as greenhouse seedling cultivation, home gardening, plant factories, and aquaculture, while also providing customized services for color, CRI, color temperature, and spectrum to meet customer needs.

Inventronics

Inventronics, which acquired the European and Asian Digital Systems business (DS-E) of ams OSRAM in June, has introduced its flagship products: the ultra-compact intelligent programmable power supply EUM, the high-voltage version of the ultra-compact intelligent programmable power supply ESM, the waterproof power supply EBV for landscape lighting, the Class I/II NFC programmable power supply EBS, the 440V overvoltage protection power supply EAM, the circular high-bay luminaire power supply EUR, and the LED driver accessories series. Among these, the dual-color temperature power supply enables independent adjustment of luminance and color temperature with a dual-channel design, making it an innovative product for scenario-based applications.

Foshan Lighting

At Hall 9.2, Booth C20, Foshan Lighting has set up zones for smart home, healthy lighting, and smart city, highlighting the application of dynamic light technology in smart homes and smart cities. Visitors can personally experience easy control of lighting scenarios. Meanwhile, photocatalyst product experiences are provided, allowing users to feel the "purification" technology on site.

MTC Lighting

MTC Lighting mainly showcased its full-spectrum filaments, flexible filaments, and flip-chip E1H series COB products.

Zhaga Consortium

The Zhaga Consortium is an open, global lighting industry alliance dedicated to standardization in the field of circular lighting. It is responsible for standardizing key interchangeable and interoperable components of LED luminaires and their interfaces, covering the entire LED supply chain. At this GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition), circular lighting standards and products from the entire supply chain were showcased, including LED replaceable modules, smart configurable drivers, and smart lighting plug-and-play controllers, with live demonstrations of circular lighting equipment.
