On June 16, Signify announced that it has fully achieved its 2021 carbon neutrality goal by optimizing operations for energy saving, utilizing renewable energy, and innovating lighting technologies and service models. It is currently the first and only lighting company in China to complete BSI PAS 2060 carbon neutrality certification.

Signify China Headquarters has successfully passed verification based on the PAS 2060 standard by the British Standards Institution (abbreviated as BSI, The British Standards Institution), obtaining the 2021 Carbon Neutral Certification.

BSI was founded in 1901 as the world's first national standards body and a founding member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), responsible for initiating common management system standards across multiple global sectors. The globally first carbon neutrality verification standard PAS 2060, published by BSI, clearly stipulates requirements for quantifying, reducing, and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions from organizations, products, and activities, enhancing the credibility of corporate carbon neutrality declarations; it remains the most widely recognized international specification for carbon neutrality statements to date. Through verification under this standard, Signify China Investment Co., Ltd. achieved its 2021 carbon neutrality target by optimizing greenhouse gas reduction plans and purchasing carbon offset credits, thereby offsetting 459 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent generated from various operational activities.

Currently, the global Industry faces numerous challenges including population growth, urbanization, climate change, and resource scarcity. To achieve sustainable development, the transition of the lighting Industry towards low-carbon and intelligent solutions has become a trend. In the new five-year "Brighter Living, Better World" Sustainable Development Plan, Signify is accelerating at double speed to exceed the goal set in the Paris Agreement to limit global average temperature rise to within 1.5 degrees Celsius, committed to doubling all environmental and social contribution indicators before 2025.

On the basis of achieving carbon neutrality itself, Signify takes on the responsibility of driving the entire value chain to reduce carbon emissions. it launched the "Low-Carbon Lighting Transition" plan , partnering with upstream and downstream partners to jointly support China's "Dual Carbon" goals and high-quality sustainable development. This plan fully combines the current status of the Chinese market with Signify's technological advantages, focusing primarily on five key areas:

· By reducing lighting energy consumption, empowering green and low-carbon development of urban and rural construction;

· Expand the layout of solar luminaires, accelerate the construction of an efficient clean energy system;

· Combining LED road lighting with smart poles to support the construction of a low-carbon transportation system;

· Innovating lighting technologies and services to lead the industry toward a circular economy model;

· Customized sustainable "light recipes" to promote green agricultural development

Signify states that it will continue to be committed to providing higher quality, more [[13. 节能、寿命与评价]] environmentally protective lighting products, technologies and services, actively driving energy saving and emission reduction across the entire value chain, leading various industries towards carbon neutrality, and embracing new opportunities for low-carbon development.
