GILE2022 | In August, GILE sounded the horn for industry upgrade and transformation

Time flies. GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition) has accompanied the industry for nearly 27 years. The 2022 exhibition will be postponed from its originally scheduled June dates to August 3–6 at China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. As a communication bridge for the global lighting industry, GILE is committed to providing a business platform for information sharing and networking. This year's exhibition will gather industry strength, introduce cutting-edge lighting technologies, create displays of diverse application scenarios, organize concurrent events closely aligned with market trends, and provide precise business matching services to help industry players explore the latest trends and achieve their business goals.
As a new era unfolds, the lighting industry embarks on a new journey of quality enhancement, immersive experiences, integration of smart health, and cross-ecosystem development. GILE has been continuously innovating its exhibition to keep pace with the rapidly evolving lighting industry. The 2022 exhibition will be organized around nine major themes:

As a lighting industry exhibition, GILE organizes multiple large-scale concurrent events at each edition, bringing together the traditional lighting Industry, connected lighting technologies and new supply chains, cross-industry application sectors, and trade buyers for exchange and business negotiations. The lighting industry is facing a new cycle, new circumstances, and a new landscape; lighting companies are in a period of seeking breakthroughs, actively strengthening their capabilities, pursuing transformation and upgrading, and breaking with the old to establish the new. The 2022 exhibition and its concurrent events will focus on "Industry Power" as the main theme, showcasing the vitality of the lighting industry in the new era. Among them, the concurrent events will collaborate with multiple industry associations and institutions to plan five major activity themes, including:

Brand is a reflection of a company's comprehensive strength and an important carrier of corporate value. Lighting companies continuously strive to enhance brand value, evolving from "product brands" to "industry brands" and finally to "mass-market brands." Creativity brings innovative experiences; resilience delivers exceptional products; philosophy drives industry transformation. This is the power of innovation and change, where brands leverage experience to meet the challenges of a new era. Through silent dedication, continuous R&D, and pushing for new breakthroughs, brands create endless possibilities in lighting and improve people's living experiences.

Cross-industry collaboration and ecosystem business models have become the new engine for upgrading the lighting industry. Whole-home intelligence and the Internet of Everything are building a new industrial supply chain for the sector, composed of epitaxy, chips, packaging, luminaires, intelligent control systems, sensor systems, and software. The design of scenarios and experiences drives the integrated design of space, lighting, and soft furnishings. Lighting enterprises must adopt a mindset of cross-boundary integration, extending new business opportunities through cooperation across different fields.

Driven by innovation and empowered by technology, lighting professionals promote steady and long-term enterprise development. The lighting industry has undergone successive waves of technological innovation, injecting new elements into the sector, including diverse light control modes, Human centric lighting (HCL), on-demand lighting, and applications that go beyond lighting light technology.

At present, society has entered an era of high-quality economic development, with originality and innovative thinking driving the development of the design industry. Under a framework of boundless thinking and no restrictions, the design of China's decorative lighting industry has also entered a new business model. In addition, commercial implementation and cross-industry integration have become the core drivers of practical design. The current major trend in light environment design will focus on health and livable design.

Channel merchants that directly serve consumers on the front lines of the market are also transforming into "service providers," integrating user resources and enhancing comprehensive services. In the era of "Internet+," the integration of online and offline channels is a major trend. Merchants leverage e-commerce data to understand consumer preferences and guide production through reverse customization.

Regarding the outlook for the 2022 exhibition, Mr. Hu Zhongshun, General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., stated: "In the next decade, the lighting industry will reach a new milestone, and innovation in the industry has become a major topic for practitioners to consider. Working together with unity, we hope GILE can build a platform for industry professionals to share lighting design concepts and advanced lighting technologies, inject more positive energy into the industry, endow 'light' with more value, and bring more business opportunities."
