Shanghai lighting enterprises and luminaire cities welcome the resumption of work

With the epidemic effectively controlled, Shanghai fully resumed production and living order on June 1. The cross-river passage, closed for 61 days, reopened.

The lighting industry is also rapidly hitting the reset button.

The Shanghai Luminaire City announcement states that it will gradually resume business operations starting from June 1, 2022 (Wednesday). Business hours are temporarily adjusted to 10:00 to 16:00 daily. The mall has undergone comprehensive disinfection, and merchants are resuming operations one by one.

Feilo Acoustics' subsidiary, the Shanghai Institute of Automation, has scientifically formulated a resumption-of-work plan. In May, it successfully applied to be included in the fourth batch of Shanghai's resumption-of-work whitelist. It is fully committed to epidemic prevention and control management, material supply, personnel management, and other aspects during the resumption of work, steadily advancing the process. It is reported that employees returning to work must provide proof of two negative nucleic acid tests within 48 hours before entering the park, undergo an antigen test and scan the venue code at the park entrance, and undergo a 2-day silent period management. Only if daily antigen tests are negative during this period can they return to their posts. The subsidiary Shanghai Yier is also steadily advancing its resumption of work, with employees returning to work on a large scale.

BPI Semiconductor recently stated in response to investor inquiries that the epidemic situation in Shanghai has been effectively controlled, and comprehensive production resumption and work resumption began on June 1st. The impact of this epidemic on the company is limited. Regarding shipping modes, the company adopts a direct shipping model by signing direct shipping agreements with suppliers, reducing the number of transfers and mitigating the impact of logistics disruptions in Shanghai on the supply chain. To address pressure on shipping timeliness, the company has coordinated with warehouses in other regions to resolve related issues.

Shanghai Era of Light Lighting Electrical Testing Co., Ltd. issued an announcement: In accordance with the overall requirements for epidemic prevention and control in Shanghai, the Shanghai Quality Supervision, Inspection and Technology Research Institute will resume business processing starting June 1, 2022. Prior to this, multiple testing engineers had already carried out tests affected by the epidemic to correctly and effectively complete the urgent testing and reports required by customers.

Shanghai Dinghui Technology Co., Ltd., located in Qingpu District, is one of the main manufacturers in the LED optoelectronics field and was among the first enterprises to receive the notice for resuming work and production in Shanghai. Its chairman, Li Jiansheng, stated: 'We organized our core team configuration and started operations at 60% production capacity on the day we resumed work, producing urgently needed products for customers in the shortest possible time. Due to thorough preparation beforehand, our production efficiency increased by 10% compared to normal levels.'

Shanghai has focused on many important semiconductor enterprises. It is reported that among the first and second batches of white-listed enterprises released by Shanghai Municipality, key semiconductor companies including SMIC, Hua Hong Semiconductor, TSMC, Shanghai HLMC Microelectronics, AMEC, etc., have been the first to resume production and work. As of May 29, the resumption rate of the first batch of 142 enterprises has reached 91%.

In recent times, Shanghai has continuously introduced relevant measures to promote the resumption of work and production by enterprises, foster economic recovery and revitalization. For enterprises, the pandemic is merely a short-term disruption; more importantly, they must plan for the long term. However, "resuming work" cannot be simply equated with "recovery"; enterprises still need to prepare to face new challenges after resuming operations.
