Recently, the application process for the 2022 Zhongshan City Major Science and Technology Special Projects (Strategic Emerging Industries Technology Breakthroughs) has officially launched.

Online declaration time for enterprises: May 6 to June 6, 17:00


Online review and recommendation deadline by the town/street science and technology competent department: June 10, 17:00


Maximum funding amount per project : In principle, capped at 5 million CNY


Application Conditions


Enterprises registered within the administrative jurisdiction of Zhongshan City, possessing independent legal person status, with sound financial management institutions and systems, good asset and operating conditions, aligned with national, provincial, and municipal industry development directions, demonstrating strong technological innovation capabilities, and truthfully reporting relevant technology statistics to statistical and technology departments.


This batch of projects adopts a pre-grant support model. The funding amount for each project shall, in principle, not exceed 5 million CNY , and the ratio of self-raised funds to fiscal grants must be at least 2:1. Zhongshan City encourages technology venture capital institutions to make equity investments in these projects. Regarding fiscal fund allocation, the lead unit shall, in principle, receive the largest share; if a participating unit is from outside Zhongshan City, it shall not receive any fiscal funding. Major science and technology special projects in Zhongshan City (including the strategic emerging industries technology breakthrough theme) fall under the pre-grant category. Enterprises may apply for only one project per calendar year, and multiple applications for the same project are prohibited.

Biomedicine and Health


Support the research and industrialization of biological drugs, chemical drugs, traditional Chinese medicine, and biological products. Focus on supporting preclinical research and treatment for major diseases such as malignant tumors, metabolic diseases, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases using antibodies, proteins and peptides, small molecule compounds, and cell and stem cell therapies. Prioritize the industrialization application of drugs with confirmed efficacy and their formulations. Support the R&D and industrialization of high-end medical devices.


Optoelectronics Laser


Aiming at key technologies and applications urgently needed in fields such as optical communication, laser processing, and high-definition imaging, with a focus on supporting parallel high-speed optical components, femtosecond laser precision machining, ultra-short pulse laser processing, laser additive and subtractive manufacturing, low-illuminance color and high-resolution photoelectric imaging, laser confocal microscopy, high-precision optical lenses, Sanan Healthy lighting technologies, core components, and critical equipment R&D to form market-competitive products or system-level applications.


Artificial Intelligence and High-End Equipment


支持面向新能源、健康医疗、智能制造及环保等领域的大数据、人工智能、5G、数字孪生、信息安全、工业互联网、智能汽车等技术研发和集成应用,重点支持相关核心软件、关键零部件、系统平台及装备开发,实现较大规模节点或用户数的行业典型应用;支持工业母机、生产线、智能工厂等智能制造系统及装备的数字化设计、过程控制、工业软件及共性关键技术的开发与应用示范。

Focus on key core new materials and their applications urgently needed to address challenges in fields such as 5G communications, optoelectronic information, environmental protection, and new energy. Priority support is given to high-purity, high-density, large-size target materials; high-thermal-conductivity chips; gallium oxide sensor chips; high-frequency FPC materials; high-magnetic-sensitivity magnetic powder cores; large-size (6-inch) conductive and semi-insulating SiC single crystals; large-size (12-inch) calcium fluoride crystals; blue-light-excited near-infrared phosphors; high-performance photosensitive resins; high-performance metallurgical powders; environmentally friendly coatings; bio-based biodegradable materials; cobalt-free lithium-ion batteries; fuel cell catalysts and stacks; and related R&D and industrialization.
