2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition Officially Launched

On March 31, the "2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition," jointly hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry and the People's Government of Guzhen Town, Zhongshan City, was launched online. Liu Shengping, Vice Chairman of the China Association of Lighting Industry, attended the meeting, delivered a speech, and announced the launch of the competition. Ruan Zhili, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Mayor of Guzhen Town, Zhongshan City, also attended and spoke. More than 4,200 people participated in the launch event online.

In his speech, Chairman Liu pointed out that the China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition has been successfully held for ten consecutive years. More than 1,000 entities and individuals from the industry participated in various events of the design competition. The association's secretariat collected more than 3,000 physical and conceptual design works. The technological innovations and artistic charm of the works attracted widespread attention from the industry. The high recognition of the award-winning works by society and the industry greatly stimulated the creativity of designers. The design competition has had a positive impact on all sectors of society.

China's economy is currently in a transition period from high-speed growth to high-quality development. Innovation has become a key factor in enhancing industry competitiveness. Improving design innovation and technological innovation capabilities is an important foundation for promoting high-quality development in the sector. The design competition will prioritize serving national strategies and leading industry development, building and improving a platform for showcasing and exchanging independent innovative designs, and continuously enhancing the international influence of China's lighting industry.

She also expressed three hopes for this edition of the competition: First, she hopes that all participants will pay attention to changes in consumer demand, break through traditional concepts, and boldly innovate in design. Second, she hopes that the relevant personnel of the design competition will scientifically, objectively, fairly, and rigorously handle tasks such as event organization, registration, and award evaluation. Third, she hopes that all participating organizations of the design competition will actively and seriously carry out various promotional activities, strengthening and boosting the appeal and influence of the design competition with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, so that the China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition truly becomes a major stage for providing high-level original works to the lighting electrical industry and supplying high-level design talent to the lighting industry.

At the meeting, Wang Zhuo, Secretary-General of the China Lighting Association, reviewed the development history of the competition and introduced the overall plan for the 2022 China International Lighting/Luminaire Design Competition. Different from previous years, this year's design competition set up two sub-categories: agricultural lighting and landscape lighting, and will further increase promotional investment to expand the influence of the design competition. Hong Bing, Secretary-General of the Agricultural Lighting Professional Committee of the China Lighting Association, and Wang Qin, Secretary-General of the Landscape Lighting Professional Committee of the China Lighting Association, respectively introduced the plans for the agricultural lighting and landscape lighting sub-categories of the design competition.

会议同期还组织召开了“照明产品设计研讨会”，邀请了往届大赛的获奖单位代表和评审专家分享历届大赛的参赛或评审经验。清华大学美术学院工业设计系副教授、博导唐林涛作了“照明产品创新设计方法论”的报告，他通过分享不同灯具及灯光设计的案例，指出设计师应以研究为基础，设计为驱动，通过设计做研究。国家灯具质量检验检测中心副主任刘尔立通过防触电保护类别、内外部接线等方面对照明产品的安全技术要求进行了讲解。广东光阳电器有限公司冠雅照明研发中心部长黄志斌分享了往年多次参与大赛的心得体会与收获。
