- Green Building Project

The Hong Kong Institute of Technology (THEi) is an institution under the Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong, dedicated to offering innovative and unique degree programs that cover Hong Kong's优势 industries, aligning with societal and industry demands for talent development. The campus design at the Chai Wan campus emphasizes integration between the school and the community, featuring a captivating twin-tower architectural design that blends community green spaces with modern architecture—a rarity among schools in Hong Kong.

To provide a more comfortable learning and working environment, SPL was invited to be the sole lighting partner for this project at the Chai Wan campus of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology (THEi).

It must be said that this project has become a major achievement in SPL's lighting projects for green buildings. The Chai Wan Campus of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology (Thei) received the final Platinum Award under BEAM Plus New Buildings V1.2, organized by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), with energy-saving lighting being one of the key assessment criteria. Furthermore, the project later won the Leadership Award for Sustainable Design and Performance in the Tertiary Institution category of the Asia Pacific Green Building Leadership Awards, presented by the World Green Building Council. This demonstrates that the Chai Wan Campus of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology (Thei) is truly a green building, for which SPL deserves significant credit.

In the project, leveraging its extensive experience in lighting solutions and comprehensive, professional needs analysis, Xibaoke designed and provided a wide variety of luminaires to meet the diverse requirements of different spaces.

First, the appropriate lighting equipment provided by SPL not only provides stable lighting for the academy but also creates a pleasant and colorful environment. Secondly, adequate lighting creates a comfortable and worry-free campus environment for users, illuminating every corner. Whether indoors or outdoors, sufficient light ensures the campus remains bright, allowing the college to be accessible day and night without the hassle of dim lighting.

In addition, all luminaires use energy-saving lamps, helping the college reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 27.1% and obtain environmental protection certification, contributing to environmental protection efforts in Hong Kong and worldwide.
