1 Ocean King established three new holding subsidiaries

On January 10, 2022, Ocean's King Lighting issued an announcement stating that it would invest in establishing three new holding subsidiaries.

In addition, in accordance with the development needs of Ocean's King Lighting Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), and upon nomination by the President and review by the Nomination Committee of the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Li Wenbing, Mr. Qiu Liangjie, and Mr. Cheng Lin as Vice Presidents of the Company. Their terms of office shall commence from the date of approval by the Board of Directors at this meeting and expire upon the expiration of the current term of the Board of Directors.

EU notifies quality defects in 5 domestically produced light string products

From December 17, 2021 to January 7, 2022, the European Commission's Rapid Alert System for non-food products (RAPEX) issued notifications regarding the quality of five models of domestically produced string lights. The main defects include:

The cross-sectional area of the product's wire is too small, which may cause overheating and pose a risk of burns or fire;

Insufficient electrical insulation and lack of moisture protection may result in risks such as electric shock from accessible (live) parts.

Based on this recall, there were few notifications for branded products (1 notification), while all other notified products were unbranded. In terms of notifying countries, France and Hungary had more notifications (2 each) than Italy (1 notification).

3 Shenzhen Customs Seizes a Batch of Infringing Lighting Luminaires

Recently, after confirmation by the relevant trademark rights holders, Shenzhen Dapeng Customs previously seized 360 luminaires in the export freight channel suspected of infringing the exclusive rights to the "UL CERTIFIED and logo" trademark, including 338 ceiling lights and 22 wall lights. The declared value of the goods involved is approximately RMB 750,000. Currently, Customs has completed the detention procedures for the aforementioned suspected infringing goods, which will be handled by the disposal department in the next step.
